Question by : Talking to a heartbroken 6 year old… what can I say to her?
Okay, here goes…
I am a recovering drug addict, 5 years clean on January 17th.
I have a daughter, 6 years old who lives on the other side of the country with her father. I have not seen her in a long time, but we talk on the phone several times a week and send eachother cards and letters. I love her more then anything in the world.
I gave her up because i knew her father was able to care for her and i was not, i had to do what is best for her and i do not regret it.
Now I am settled, no longer using drugs, no longer homeless, No longer assoating myself with other people who use drugs. I am with a wonderful, supportive man who I love very much. My stepson, who is with us on the weekends is a light in my life and my daughter loves talking to him on the phone as well.
But I am pregnant, 35 weeks with a baby girl, I’m scared that my daughter will think that I am trying to replace her with a new baby. How can I explain to her that the new baby is not going to take her place in my heart? How can I reassure her that I love her and the new baby the same, that the new baby is not loved more then her just because the baby is with me and she is not?
She has already expressed conceirn that I wont have time to talk to her and sing her songs on the phone anymore, and she has also said that with the new baby I might forget about her. She brings these things up all the time and all I can ever think to say to her is that I love her and that will never change, but it never seems to set her mind at ease.

Answer by akgirl All you can do is keep reassuring her and follow through with your promises! There are several childrens books that deal with the fear children have of somehow losing their parents love. “Do you love me mama?” “I love you Forever” and “The Kissing Hand” come to mind. Perhaps you could purchase 2 of the same book, send one to her and keep one at your house and read them together on the phone. Most importantly, keep your word to her.

Answer by nicole h I think it is really awesome that you kicked your meth habit, but if there is “free money” out there I think children from under privilege families would benefit most.
EDIT: Here is a list of dental schools by state (as the other person suggested). You could call one near where you live and see if they give you an estimate.
www.blacktree.tv Chris Brown was the big winner, but it was Kanye West’s night at the American Music Awards. Instead of his typical tantrum — a trend West started four years ago when he lost the favorite new artist prize — the rapper claimed two trophies Sunday and called on his colleagues to up their game. “It’s our responsibility as musicians to keep pushing each other,” West said. “We will be the new Beatles, the new (Jimi) Hendrix. I want to be Elvis.” West was named favorite male rap artist and his CD, “Graduation,” won favorite rap/hip-hop album. Brown took the night’s top honors — artist of the year — as well as favorite male artist in both the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories. “I was shocked,” the 19-year-old crooner said backstage. “I’m so thankful and grateful. I thought Coldplay should have won the award, but I’ll take it.” Brown’s gal pal, Rihanna — who wore chains and a leather corset to perform her love ballad, “Rehab” — was named favorite female artist in both the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories. Alicia Keys was another double winner: Her CD, “As I Am,” was both pop/rock and soul/R&B album winner. The American Music Awards traditionally centers on its performances, and Sunday was no exception. The show featured high-energy sets from Miley Cyrus, Ne-Yo and Beyonce, though a pair of lackluster medleys opened the program at the Nokia Theatre. Christina Aguilera channeled Madonna and the New Kids on the Block channeled an earlier version of themselves as each … Video Rating: 4 / 5
Question by cheebo: Can I admit my 17 Year Old son into a drug rehab center without his permission?
My son is 17 years old, and has a severe drug addiction problem. He’s on nearly every Hallucinogen, and smokes marijuana daily. He won’t go into a drug rehab program, we’ve tried before. Can I commit him without his consent? I’ve heard before that at 17 he needs to sign a consent form, which he won’t. But there must be a way to get him help, he’s not even 18 yet. We live in Vermont if that helps. Thank you for your answers, we greatly appreciate them.

diagnosing him with depression or any mental disorder, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder? They are administering these drugs to him for aggressiveness and behavioral problems. Since when have antipsychotics been used in adolescents for aggressive behavior? Is this ethical? Is this the 21st century version of electroshock therapy and lobotomy? Why is a drug rehab facility taking someone off of street drugs and putting him on pharmaceutical drugs?

Eddie Guerrero is one of those things I just can’t let go of. On this day, on November 13th around 11 Am, Eddie Guerrero was found dead in his hotel room in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The cause was of a heart attack. This broke my heart as soon has I heard the news. Eddie left behind a legacy like no one else. Eddie made you laugh, and cry. He always stole the show. Weather it being him lieng, cheating, or stealing. When Eddie Guerrero won his first WWE title at No way Out 2004, it gave me goose bumps. I thought to myself, this is a man who lost his wife, his children and his job to drugs, and alcohol, and now being 4 years sober, he’s on top of the world. Eddie’s an inspiration to me. He makes me go the distance. If it’s a test, or running the gym exam, I give that 110% because of Eddie. He’s my Idol and inspiration. It’s been two years since Eddie’s death, and it still feels like yesterday. Eddie Guerrero was a great wrestler, and above all a great father. He was loved by everyone around him. As only a fan, I feel quite an impact; I can only imagine how his family feels. Eddie Guerrero is a legendary Icon. While some forgot, or will forget, I simply can’t, Because Eddie lives inside me. Above everything else, I would like to say thank you. Thank you Eddie for everything you’ve done. Thank you for entertaining me, and thank you for being my inspiration. On this day I say RIP Eddie Guerrero. You’ve done so much, and there’s so much to remember you by. Every time I watch … Video Rating: 4 / 5
Question by LFA911: 17 year old who thinks he can get clean with drug addict friends?
My boyfriend has recently had problems with marijuana. He was expelled from the same school twice for it. He has decided he wants to get clean and move forward. But I have problems with his friends because he does not have a single friend who is not on some kind of drug. All of them are on drugs. I told him that i do not want to be apart of any kind of drug use. He thinks that he can stay clean and still hang out with all of his friends who are on drugs. I know that in order to be healthy as a person you have to surround yourself around people who are also healthy and can influence him in a positive way. He says he cant just dropped his friends. How do i show him they are not good for him?
Best answer:
Answer by Kim I was a serious user for two years. The thing that stopped me was finding out I was pregnant. Wanting to be the best mother kept me clean. But I won’t lie, I hang out around people who DO NOT use because when I am around people that do I do want to use. He needs to be true to himself, and re consider his friends. It is not worth the risk of relapsing and getting in trouble even if he is not currently using.
Question by mscarlybobarlysmom: time for a change? Recovered alcoholic boss after one year is now is disarray.?
worked for a company for 10+ yrs and assistant to the president of the company. After his one year aniversary of soberity, the disarray in business applications is causing my job to become varied in job description. I’m not getting much help or answers. You can’t say anything about it, but it’s not helping #1 for the work environment when 75% of my day is calming those who don’t understand the scattered thoughts from him and the other 25% trying to resolve issues on my own, hoping I’ve made the right choices because I can’t get answers. She disapears and takes many “mental health” days and works after hours so there is no human contact and thoughts can be clearer. Should I stick with it, move on, say something or just keeping on doing what I need to do to keep the business a float on my end? How do I know this???? The wife of a recovered alcoholic (I know everyone has a different experience), but it’s like living with my husband after his first year. I LOVE my job, but need my sanity.
Best answer:
Answer by concise_pear thats the question you have to ask yourself.
is it worth losing your sanity for a job?
are you being overworked?
It might not be worth it in the end.
ultimately, its something you have to either change or live with, and it sounds as if you need to make that decision soon
All the best

Answer by Lady_K I would suggest talking with your boss and asking for some clear cut directions that would help them be able to keep thing smoothe. Tell them exactly what the problems are WITHOUT blaming them for those problems. Come to a solution together and start the process from there.
