Question by meetoo: Alcoholic sober for 12 years, but I really want to drink some good red wine with dinner – Do you think I can?
I got sober 12 years ago when my life was a disaster. Booze, drugs and the wild rock n roll lifestyle nearly killed me.

Since then, I have aquired a great life. Wife, 2 kids, a good job…….But, I really want to drink like a nice red wine with good food.

I feel like I’m missing out on one of life’s great pleasures – good wine.

Any alcoholics out there grow out of it, and found themselves able to just drink some occassional wine?

Why would you want to risk everything you have, just to have a glass of wine? You are a recovering alcoholic, so you should know of the slippery slope that drinking can be. You claim to have a good life with your wife, kids and job. Don’t be a fool.

READ DESCRIPTION PLEASE!!! So I went out for new years but stayed sober. I was the DD. Yippee! People accused me of drinking on New Years when I was actually sober… The wine bottle was already empty prior to making this video it was just water! [ I consumed it on Blog TV with Andrea :www.youtube.com earlier in the week! But shhhhhh!]I was not really drunk. This was just an “prediction” of how I would’ve acted if I had consumed the bottle in one whole night… Umm in a couple of hours. Umm… Yeah this is a joke so don’t take it seriously! I am not an alcoholic! And I do not have an alcohol problem! :) -Cyn Now you guys see why I hardly drink!! Follow me On Twitter! www.twitter.com Subscribe to my Random Live Shows! What are the effects of cooking food with wine or any other alcoholic product?

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 14 Comments »

For example, if I was to cook chicken soup and pour nearly a cup of wine with it for taste, would it count as alcohol? If I was to be tested in the near future for alcohol, would I test positive? Would it be appropriate for children to drink this soup?

Keep in mind that this is not wine made especially for cooking. It’s like any other alcoholic beverage.

Also, other examples include rum cake or beer-battered fish. Do they produce the same effects as drinking the alcoholic it is cooked with straight from the bottle?

Thank you.

What non-alcoholic drink can you use to substitute rice wine?

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 4 Comments »

I’m a college student and my campus is a dry campus (meaning no alcohol allowed) but I want to cook something that requires rice wine. Is there anything non-alcoholic that can be used to substitute this drink and how much if it’s a mixture of things?

Is drinking 1/2 a bottle to a bottle of wine a night considered alcoholism?

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 6 Comments »

It’s usually 1/2 a bottle a night, sometimes more. Is this considered alcoholism? Are there any long term negative effects of doing this? NOTE – I NEVER get in a car after drinking the wine. I go to sleep. Thanks.

Can you become an alcoholic just drinking wine?

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 16 Comments »

Alcoholism runs in my family and I’ve avoided all drinking so I won’t fall into that trap. However, I’ve become curious about wine. Could I become an alcoholic just by drinking wine or is it a relatively safe way to go? Should I just keep avoiding it?

What non alcoholic substitute can you use in pate for the bourbon or wine?

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 3 Comments »

I am looking for a good pate recipe, but all of them call for bourbon or wine. I know alcohol is usually burned off during cooking, but I would rather not use any at all. What are some good non-alcoholic substitutes?
