Question by lipgloss-junkie: What’s the difference between drinking to get drunk and drinking to relax?
I’ve heard people defend the practice of drinking alone as innocent relaxation (and I totally agree with that). But…as I’m sitting here after working and studying all day and wanting to enjoy a few cocktails in peace, I can’t help but wonder where the difference between alcoholism and relaxation is. And along those lines, do you consider drinking to get drunk to be a bad practice? Any thoughts?

Best answer:

Answer by Amber
Alcoholism is just doing it habitually. You have one drink a day for 6 months and have with-drawls if you miss a day.

And getting drunk is a step further than relaxing

Question by RonAlv2: What’s the best way to deal with alcoholism?
I drink at least 15 beers per day. I have a regular job. I don’t drink on the job. I just drink from the time I get off work until I go to bed. I don’t pass out! I usually go to bed after midnight I also take blood pressure meds, so that kinda concerns me. I’ve made an appt. with my doc. this week. I need to do something soon or I’m going to lose the one that I love! Ron

Question by Cammy Models: Hunns, what’s a good gift for a recovered alcoholic?
Hunns, one of my best friends recently made 100 days as a recovered alcoholic. I could not be prouder of her. I want to show her how proud I am of her by doing a few nice things for her. I’ve had Chef bake her a darling rum cake (her favorite) and I’ve decided to take her on a girls weekend to the California wine country…just give her a few nice days of fun and relaxation. I also want to give her a gift, but I can’t decide what it should be. Any suggestions hunns?

alleged uses: there are reducing learning time and sleeping needs (theta waves are thought to improve learning, since children, who have stronger theta waves, and remain in this state for a longer period of time than adults, usually learn faster than adults; and some people find that half an hour in the theta state can reduce sleeping needs up to four hours; however, this is supposed to happen with any way to get into theta state, e.g. meditation); some use them for lucid dreaming and even for achieving out-of-body experiences, astral projection, telepathy and psychokinesis. However, most people believe that these phenomena (except lucid dreams, which are acknowledged even by mainstream science) do not exist, let alone that they can be achieved by entraining the brain to a specific frequency.
Binaural beats have also been used experimentally for the treatment of addictions, and for the recovery of repressed memories, but as with other techniques this can lead to false memories.
I used it and i started to hallucinate while resting….weird stuff
