Question by elmich: ex/drug addicted….what could his thoughts be like and is the following true?
my bf was drug addicted..now he is clean and does not use drugs anymore for sure…2 years passed since he is clean..so..my mum and friends told me that these people like to own persons, they may become obsessed with someone they like…..i am afraid if i leave him what would he do and does it have truth in it cause he is really someimes behaving like that..do u know anything about behaviour of ex drug addicted in general and towards people they love..help please
Best answer:
Answer by GregH7 Well ive done drugs before and i could see myself doing them again if my gf dumped me. They just help with depression(depending on which drug). But ya if you leave him then he will most likely get back into them unless he finds another girlfriend. Which isnt the first thing on your mind after being dumped. So im not sure what you should do. Sorry. I guess you could leave him but stay friends with him so that he doesnt get back into them too heavily.

Question by Rachel: Am I a true recovered alcoholic?
I don’t want to use he word “alcoholic” anymore as I have been there and done that. I used to binge drink till I blacked out on anything I could get my hands on for many years. Once things got bad and I got out of my denial, i placed myself into an outpatient center and sobered up for 15 months without a single drop of alcohol. I was proud of myself and had no urges. But I started again, only at social settings and maybe once in awhile I will have one or two beers with my boyfriend during dinner. The thought of getting drunk makes my stomache churn and after drinking in moderation for almost a year now. I honestly do not see my casual drinking to ever go out of control like it did years ago. I strictly drink only beer, as wine and liquor seem to remind me of the old days…I feel I am truley a recovered alcoholc, but the guilt still lingers everytime I take a drink. Should I feel this way?
Best answer:
Answer by Grey Haven I don’t think you should worry about feeling guilty. All that guilt is, is basically your conscience reminding you of your old ways and not to go back there again. It’s acting like a safeguard to make sure you don’t drink too much. Everyone drinks more than they should every now and then – unfortunately, it happens. At least this guilt prevents that to some extent.

Dated a woman for 14 mos.-Were friends for yrs-Older brother s3xually abused her during childhood. She’s 45 & lives at home (where the abuse took place) with her mom-in same room she had when she was 9. She’s attractive, had abusive relationships, but no friends. She has plenty of $ and could easily move out. As we dated, she would get weird—accusing me of saying things that are s3xually inappropriate. I never tried to do this, & we NEVER HAD S3X. I actually liked her. I was always sensitive about the abuse, but she has called me names, hit me & been emotionally abusive. After 14 mos., I decided to bring this up. When I tried, she lost it & accused me of s3xually inappropriate behavior 0VER 1 YR AGO. She even accused me of being s3xually inappropriate around her niece-24 & dating a meth addict. Only been around niece 2X. Anyway, she stopped talking in Jan.-crossed paths with her 2X since. She was uncomfortable-acting like she would like to talk, but I’m nervous. Hey, I tried.

I heard this somewhere a few weeks ago. I don’t understand how being one of the greatest players in the world and being an alcoholic could go hand in hand, although I guess it could be true.

Would you call someone that drinks 3-6 (sometimes more) beers every evening an alcoholic? I think so. Tell me if I’m wrong. I’m sick of trying to justify this. I need some external input. Thanks!

I’m definately not a alcoholic, I’m asking for somebody else very close to me.
Not really sure if this is the right section or not.
