Answer by Canan … make sure you have no smell of alcohol, shaky hands, dilated or constricted pupils ….(I’m kidding only half way, since these places like their paying “customers” but give very little shit about their actual or potential employees suffering from these conditions…).
(half) seriously now; don’t take the interview, the job, anything so seriously! Imagine if this doesn’t work, something else will, no big deal, this way, you’re relaxed and not tight or nervous (or appear like under the influence of something or too shy for the job).
I’m not sure what your personal or professional background and experience is, and the qualifications vary on the facility, but your job should be fun and definitely not tedious. Most of the ‘clients’ will be at the worst time of their life, anxious, physically – and often times mentally as well – sick or ill (no one goes to a drug/alcohol treatment center if they haven’t hit ‘rock bottom yet…). They may be hostile without any personal intentions to you and remember some are still under the influence… good luck!

It is very important to understand the scientific explanation of ibogaine that was prevalent from 1994 to 2009 — that the actual anti-addictive effect came from a long-lived metabolite (nor-ibogaine) that elevated mood by lifting serotonin levels while weakly binding to opioid receptors “to pre-empt cravings”. You must understand this or try to. Like many explanations this on was only partially true. In 2005 a University of California researcher, Dorit Ron, discovered the reason ibogaine is effective for the whole range of abused substance, including meth-amphetamine and cocaine. Within 6 hrs it causes a 12-fold increase in the expression of a growth factor, GDNF, that not only re-sprouts dopamine neurons but back-signals to cell nucleii …

Question by freshmode87: What was the name of the classical song that was on that 80′s commercial for an alcohol treatment center?
Does anyone remember that commercial from the 80′s for a drug and alcohol treatment center? They used to run the commercial constantly (at least in Southern Cal), I think the place was called Schick or New Beginnings. What was the name of the song that played in the background during the commercial? It is a very famous classical piece that sounds a lot like Canon D (the wedding song) but it’s not. They used it in the A&E show “Intervention” the other day so it appears to be synonymous with addiction and treatment. If you know it you’re a genius!

Answer by Tink I haven’t heard it myself but it is probably J.S. Bach’s “Air on a G-String” (I’m serious). Many people get those 2 pieces of music confused. It also might be J. S. Bach’s “Jesus, Joy of Man’s Desiring.”
Question by FrogFek: Should overweight people pay for NHS treatment?
If someone has become obese, should they still receive free NHS treatment for obesity related medical conditions?
I’ve asked people at work, they say obese people should be forced to pay because its self inflicted and its not like its an addiction or anything like that.
I’m so not sure if i agree with them but what do you think?

Answer by Kennedysma Some people (admittedly exceedingly FEW) cannot help their weight. If one can prove their weight is due to a medical condition, they should be able to get free care. But those who are taking advantage of all Mickey D and the King have to offer, should not. And for those parents feeding their kids that crap, they should be in prison.
Question by harrison_s_j: Where can I find information on free drug rehab treatment centers?
I need to find places that treat drug addictions, but they’re set in place for poor people who can’t afford it. Help?
This isn’t for me. It’s for my mother.

Question by Trisha W: Is there treatment for Porn addiction, I just found that my husband has lost about K on PPV porn. Help!?
I made his leave my home, we have 3 children, and I just cant even stand to look at him. I cancelled all our credit cards and put a freeze on the bank account. he has been using direct deposit advances, and check into cash to help support his addiction, he did 3 PPV porn flicks yesterday alone, the kids got dropped off at 8am and he had to be at work at 12, so in what 3 hours. I found out today when the direct TV people decided to inquire, he spent 8 on PPV this week. I cant stop weeping and there does not seem to be any help in my neighborhood, no SA or SAA branches here. What do I do, do I try and help him or do I call it quits after 10 years of marriage? Im sooo lost…………
Best answer:
Answer by Sandra M Porn addiction is a part of a sexual addiction. He can see a therapist about it. Also if you can not find a SA or SAA branch in your area look up Alcoholics Anonymous and call them and ask them if they know of a SA meeting in your area.
