CHECK OUT MY FILMS AND MUSIC AT www.milesofmemory.com http www.nimbitmusic.com An uncle and nephew battle drug addiction and gambling. Shot over a 3 year period: 100% Improv. I have a dynamite script, that was written after this shoot. 2004-2007. 3 parts. An original story by Miles Del Ray Camera Dave Lillich, John and Miles music and artwork by Miles (Motley Crue sequence cut by John Bodine) Starring Nick Simone, Al Burgo and Miles Del Ray The contents of this dvd were improvised, we started with a simple storyline; non-scripted dialogue and action shot freely on the streets of New York City. This dvd was produced for less than $300 using outdated consumer level cameras, zero permits, gaffers, lighting or sound techs. and caterer’s. With proper funding, and state of the art digital cameras and lapel mic’s, I could get a unique street vibe, (a front row shot, without alerting the front row) allowing us to capture the raw energy and pulse of the city. After viewing our first dailies, I realized that I had more than just a short film on my hands. I proceeded to write a feature script about an uncle and nephew struggling to break free from their own addictions, and survive the murky waters infested with hungry loan sharks. By the time the shoot was complete, I had written a 20 page ending. Over the next year, the script was completed. The true purpose of the video, is to get people to read the script. (This is by no means a “finished product”). Jam packed with horse betting …

NOBODY KNOWS THE TROUBLE I SEE is a beloved song from the gospel tradition and a standard in the repertoire of Jazz and blues artistes. I chose it because most musicians know it and those who do not can easily learn the melody. I have put up a couple of 12-bar blues progressions and students are asking for jazz and ballad backing tracks as well ~ so here is the first. I hope to post a few more in various keys, in the time ahead. I will post ‘standards’ as every musician has to have some in their collection. The ones I post should therefore be useful on many fronts. 0. If you are a singer go ahead and cantillate! Take a look at this link: www.youtube.com 1. Musicians ~ Grab your instrument ~ whatever it ~ and play along with the melody. Enjoy! SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVISING AND PUSHING YOUR MUSICAL SKILLS ~ 2. Your first step towards improvising: Replace some of the melody notes with notes of your own. This is easy to do and quite effective. 3. Improvise using the notes of the Scale. Land *come home* pause on a chord tone and youre safe. WATCH OUT FOR CHORDS WITH NON-SCALE NOTES – LISTEN to what you are playing and LISTEN to the chords as you progress. If you play a note that crunches (your ear will tell you! Never mind when this happens) – get off the note immediately and play on … Tip: Try inserting some semi-tones between notes, here and there. (Chromaticism.) Remember – there is no right or wrong in music. It’s what sounds good. What sounds good to you USUALLY …
