I try emphasise always I speak for myself and not for AA. I may share how AA works in my life, not how AA works for anyone else. In AA what you see is what you get on any given day. You see and hear the experience, strength and hope of many and how sobriety is working just for today. People living sober today… Open to life and new living, we stop hanging on to old fears, let go and open the door ~ Phillips Brooks “A prayer in its simplest definition is merely a wish turned Godward.” -/- As we come to believe it may be Godward and or Goodward. Courage, faith, prayer and meditation develops our choices and personal beliefs.. These days I know sober there is only one safe option from this list ~ Frank Sinatra ~ “Basically, I’m for anything that gets you through the night – be it prayer, tranquilizers or a bottle of Jack Daniels.” -/- Prayer, we all pray, sometimes we don’t know it, or realise how to focus, seems like it works with a good conscience and knowing life is always on life’s terms.. Life on lifes terms, sometimes the answer is yes, and sometimes the answer is no ~ Mary Baker Eddy “Experience teaches us that we do not always receive the blessings we ask for in prayer.” Spiritual is being able to cope with reality, fixing we live in a world of our own, fantasy.. Q&A: Does anyone know of a free, or cheap, non faith based, non 12 step, meth addiction treatment program?

DRUG ADDICTION REHAB 1 Comment »

Question by Solomon: Does anyone know of a free, or cheap, non faith based, non 12 step, meth addiction treatment program?
With all the hype about meth addiction and it’s evils you would think it would be easy to find help. Not so far.
I have been looking for a free, or cheap, non faith based, non 12 step meth addiction outpatient program in the Phoenix Metro area. Something with counselling and medical supervision would be ideal. I cannot afford to not be working since I am self employed. I need to quit, and want to be clean. The cycle must be broken. Does anybody know how to help?

Best answer:

Answer by ditdit
You can turn yourself around if you haven’t been addicted for a long time.
Good luck.
I know how you feel -but my addictions were anti depressants cigarettes and Jack Daniels

Anything is possible! ~ Miguel de Cervantes “He who loses wealth loses much; he who loses a friend loses more; but he who loses his courage loses all.” -/- Faith courage and confidence, a part of daily living… Learning how not to fix myself daily, or fix anything has been difficult. Now it is daily progress. I chatted with my 78 year old Mum earlier and asked about amends, if I had left anything unsaid which still rankles. “No, you are in recovery, you were unwell, you do what you can now.” I learn wisdom and acceptance every day.. A sign of rushing and being rushed, we add more and more to each day. I do when I forget to let something go, usually forgetting step one, powerless over people places and things, step two anything and everything can drive me insane and step three, let good prevail even when its not perfect as we might wish it so. Spiritual Angle? Living spiritual is living reality, open honest and willing. Ever present, in the imperfectly perfect moment, happy or sad, exhilerating to excoriating ~ Stephen Covey “We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey.” -/- Spiritual is not some thing we can pick or choose, like serenity we develop our ability to live in the moment, where spiritual is constant change in real time.. ~ Mohandas Gandhi “Spiritual relationship is far more precious than physical. Physical relationship divorced from spiritual is body without soul.” Truth is now.. Spiritual understanding for me is explicit in the serenity prayer, can do, cannot do, wisdom in the moment, and then choices.. ~ Similarly Oprah Winfrey “It isn’t until you come to a spiritual understanding of who you are – not necessarily a religious feeling, but deep down, the spirit within – that you can begin to take control.” Working what works for us.. Step 2 “Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity” We find it amazing that the newcomer can start the AA program without any specific beliefs or, for that matter, without any beliefs whatsoever. DRUG ADDICTION REHAB 1 Comment »

Question by liz g: Does the alcohol and drug treatment center at Clear Lake Regional in the Houston area use the 12 step program?
I know someone going there and I was wondering if she is going to be introduced to the 12 step program.

Best answer:

Answer by Blues Man
I believe all alcohol or drug rehabs use the 12 step program as part of their criteria. Everyone that I know that has been in any of these programs, the 12 steps were used along with an AA or NA book. They did other things too but yes if I was going to bet, I would that she will be exposed to this program. Ur a good friend. Wishing U the best.

What do you think? Answer below!
