Is there anyone that is totally sober going to parties that have alcohol at them or other things and do you think you could stay sober? I would if it was just alcohol and if it had anything else I would leave,

I dunno, I might be going to one. Yeah, I could if I really wanted to. I might drive people home that are drunk. *shrug* I really hate drunk drivers, if you can’t tell.

I would say that thinking about all the hurt you caused your loved ones would be very helpful.

Get involved with something you enjoy to keep your mind of your past addictions.

Dont give up on yourself. If you can’t be true to yourself then how can you expect anyone to be to you?

Pray that god will give you the strength to keep on keeping on!

Q&A: Can a couple that were once drug addicts get clean and stay together clean and sober? or should they split?

Question by “smooothoperator”: Can a couple that were once drug addicts get clean and stay together clean and sober? or should they split?
Hello, a really good friend of mine started doing drugs with her boyfriend about a year ago and finally realized they hit rock bottom so they went to a couple of AA/NA meetings and relapsed a few times but a majority of people at the meetings keep telling them that they will never make it “together” because they are both triggers to each other. But then another couple said they are doing it clean and sober for 8 months now. She keeps asking me what to do, should she break up with him, get clean then see if it will work or just break up and be friends or just try it? She is totally putting her relationship in my hands but I am scared of giving her the wrong answers. Id rather NOT be involved in any way. But I am her bestest friend so please can I get some input?

you can definately make it together. you can correct your mistakes and lean on eachother to get through it. as long as the ot her person isnt pulling you down and holding you back from getting better

Question by iheartexistence: if someone is 3 years sober, is the only way they can stay sober to stay in AA? or are there other ways?
are there other ways to live a normal sober life without committing to aa 2 nights a week? can someone stay sober after 3 years sober in AA with out staying in AA? and with out a sponsor to refer to?

Best answer:

Answer by Casafras
A lot of people see AA as the ONLY way that they can get through their sobriety; however, for me, I couldn’t stand being told that I couldn’t do anything on my own. I have been sober for two years now, with the help and support of friends, family and God.
IT is DEF possible.
Good Luck
XO

Q&A: How long will a person have to stay inside a drug rehab for addiction treatment?

DRUG ADDICTION REHAB 3 Comments »

Question by cheyanne tw: How long will a person have to stay inside a drug rehab for addiction treatment?
I was just wondering how long it would take for a person to recover from substance addiction. I have a neighbor who has just gotten into an inpatient drug rehab program and I want to know when he’s likely to be back here again.

Best answer:

Answer by angelena e
The duration of the addiction treatment is likely to be dependent upon the needs of the person. It’s also dependent upon the length of time that the patient has been taking the substance. Your neighbor has to respond to the treatment positively so as to get out of rehab sooner. It takes a couple of months, and may even extend to a year or so.
