Drug Rehabilitation that works

so i’m starting to drink on a regular basis. nothing excesive at this point. anyway, my dad was a bit of an alcholic and one of my close friends is constantly warning me that i have a hire risk of becoming one myself if i start/keep drinking. is he right?

Meth destroys, the HIGH is a lie. and I mean with burns on their lips, etc.

Dated a woman for 14 mos.-Were friends for yrs-Older brother s3xually abused her during childhood. She’s 45 & lives at home (where the abuse took place) with her mom-in same room she had when she was 9. She’s attractive, had abusive relationships, but no friends. She has plenty of $ & could easily move out. As we dated, she would get weird—accusing me of saying things that are s3xually inappropriate. I never tried to do this, & we NEVER HAD S3X. I actually liked her. I was sensitive about the abuse, but she called me names, hit me & been emotionally abusive. After 14 mos., I decided to bring this up. When I tried, she lost it & accused me of s3xually inappropriate behavior 0VER 1 YR AGO. She also said I was s3xually inappropriate around her niece-24 & with a meth addict. Only been around niece 2X. Anyway, she stopped talking in Jan.-crossed paths with her 2X. She was uncomfortable-acting like she would like to talk. I sent her a letter expressing no animosity-wishing her well.
By now, she has received my letter, but has not responded. I feel kind of like a fool or jacka$$ for putting my heart out there like this. I was sincere and honorable. My pain is that I must cross paths with her, and she seems to be walking around as though she’s fine, and I’m screwed up somehow. This is a major mind game for me. I feel terrible, but she seems fine. It just seems a bit cruel and unfair. She’s acting like she was a victim, yet she exhibited abusive behavior towards me—and doesn’t even realize it. I started reading Allies in Healing by Laura Davis, and I realize I may have completely underestimated the effects of the abuse on her behavior towards me..What’s the best way to really deal with this?

I read this question about the activities included in drug treatment programs and the best answer chosen stated that patients are given whirlpool baths during the duration of the program. Are whirlpool baths really necessary? What are they for anyway?

I’m taking this Alli stuff, I want to drop 7 lbs, but I heard from a friend that Crystal Meth is a easy way to lose weight. Alli has some bad side effects, and I’m not showing any weight lose with it. How fast would I drop 7 lbs doing Crystal Meth? Is there a bad interaction between Crystal Meth and Prozac? How do you take Crystal Meth?

I truly don’t understand how it is that the dangers of meth, heroin, cocaine, etc. are known world wide, yet each generation sees a new crop of addicts.

Meth destroys your brain, body, and mind… It can make you so delirious that you will fu*k your own mom…

Cocaine has destroyed the lives of millions and millions of people…

Opium/Pain Meds/Heroin causes EVERYONE from homeless crack heads to soccer mom’s to just destroy their own lives and abuse their kids…

We have THOUSANDS of years of Opium Abuse… about 100 years of coke abuse… 50(?) years of amphetamine abuse…

People just dropping dead in the streets from using these substances…

Yet generation after generation, we find a brand new crop of retards to get addicted and ruin their lives and the lives of their families…

Hell… Just look at Alcohol Abuse and Addiction… Husbands beating wives and mothers abusing children… All because they are driven from sanity thanks to a dangerous drug that WE ALL KNOW IS DANGEROUS AND ADDICTIVE yet is in almost every home in America…

How is it that we can know the dangers so thoroughly and yet continue to fall victim to their addiction?

I normally like dark beers and whiskey during the winter, but I’m preferring to want something more light and slightly fruity during summer. I would have really liked to try Zima or maybe an alcoholic Sprite. I might try some New Zealand white wines but I’d rather stay away from the high alcoholic stuff…

My father has an addiction to alcohol. This addiction is really beginning to erode our relationship. My friends and I are vaccillating between being frozen in fear and fearing the consequences.

How do I go about helping in this situation? I work near Quinebaug, Connecticut.

First off, a certain percentage of the population will always abuse some sort of drug legal or illegal. The controlled prescription drugs, (Vicodin, Oxycontin, Xanax, Valium etc), if these drugs were available at the local Wallgreens but without a prescription, would we then have a nation of drug addicts? It seems to me that, yes, initially we would see an increase in problems, but because of the now OTC status of these drugs, we would not see the major criminal aspects involved with obtaining the illegal variety, because people would now have a steady supply, and not need to go on the streets. Now obviously this is similar to just legalizing all curentlly illegal drugs,(cocaine, METH etc.), but these drugs have no acceptable medical value,and are very dangerous, so they shouldn’t be legalized. But the medications that DO have medical value, could perhaps be available OTC, and maybe this would cut down on the abuse of the illegal variety. What do you think?

Is a drug addiction a sickness or stupidity? If you were very close to someone that wanted so bad to get off drugs but couldn’t, Will you be wrong and stupid for being there for them regardless?
