Question by nightcrow_red: I have an addiction to Oxycontin (Vicodoine)seek treatment.Any free Clinic numbers or help lines?
All the other ones costed around 64,000 Dollars to get help, out of my own pocket. I dont have that much… I work for practicly min wage. I’m really serious about getting off of this addiction, and need help. Does anyone know of any numbers, or clinics that can help me out. I dont have official insurance, but have Native American benifets, and tried calling them, but they werent much help. If ANYONE knows of any free clinics for detoxing, and treatment would be greatly appriciated.

Answer by Carlin for Pres. there should be some state funded ones in your area.
i went to one in tx in lubbock.
if you call a local rehab, and tell them your financial situation, someone should be able to direct to one in your state.

Answer by Skierchick He needs more than once a month. Maybe insurace would help like a 30 day program or something. I would call the Department of Corrections in your state and ask them. It all depends on the state you are in. Maybe call Intervention? They will pay your way! Good luck! There are a few in AZ, some in California, lots in Colorado, etc.
I have been doing Methadone for three years, now I am trying to get off of it. I am ten days into it. It is the hardest thing anyone could go through. I was wondering if I use oxycontin after withdrawing from methadone for ten days will it start the withdrawals all over again.
Since its introduction in 1996, the number of OxyContin prescriptions dispensed has increased 20-fold to about 6 million in 2000. During this same time, medical examiners, drug treatment centers, law enforcement personnel, and pharmacists have reported a substantial increase in the abuse of this product. Information received from the Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN) indicates that instances of emergency department episodes and medical examiners reports involving oxycodone, the active ingredient in OxyContin® , have increased significantly since 1996. Reports from 20 metropolitan areas within the continental US indicate that oxycodone-related deaths and emergency department episodes have increased 400 percent and 100 percent, respectively.
Today I will deal with three issues, (1) the issue of drug addiction, in particular the OxyContin problem, (2) I will present the first problems of our economic disaster (3) and finally I will make a comment on the 6-figure book deal former Illinois Governor Blagojevich, also known as Goldfinger signed. — When researching the background of the drug addiction of certain celebrities, I came across a New York Times article of May 2007 – to which I came through a link of a law firms website reporting that three former and at that time current executives of Purdue Pharma had pled guilty to criminal charges that they had misled the FDA and physicians by not disclosing that OxyContin is addictive. OxyContin is said to be causing a sense of euphoria as it changes the chemical make-up of the brain. It may be habit-forming and should not given to someone who has a history of drug abuse or addiction. There seems to be a question whether oxycodone-induced brain changes can ever be repaired. — One of the victims of the Purdue cover-up of the addictive nature of oxycontin apparently was Republican spokesman and policy-maker Rush Limbaugh who several years back admitted in his radio program that he was addicted. Apparently, his admission followed his prosecution for felony doctor shopping, as reported by Law.com in May 2006. Prosecutor Roy Black finally agreed to a plea bargain that spared Limbaugh jail time under the condition that he attended an 18 months drug treatment program …
