Question by : What is the best word (max 2) to describe a post on subjects like pedophilia. alcoholism and stuff?
i am working on a project that’s about posting about issues related to pedophilia. debt alcoholism drug abuse domestic violence and a few more. something like this place but its fouces on these issues and its totally anonymous. So what can call the initial post ? or the initial poster? its

like 1st post . submission and so on . but something more inline with the feeling of the site. emotional and so forth. not really a question as well.
I came up with Disclosure. anything else?

i have 2 years sober and my lifes pretty good and i dont need it or fiene it at all i just could use an outlet , once in a while to relieve stress i wasnt addicticed to alchol before would only drink once in a while but i was addicted to heroin and oxycontin . i strongly beleive that i can just drink once in a while and not go back to my old habits and drug use . all suggestions are really appreciated . thank you in advance……
and i feel like i might not have been an addict all along i was just young and insecure but now im growing up and realize how bad drugs are for my health and that with my life in place i can indeed controll and drink only once in a while which AA says would never work it calls it the dream,and obbsession of every alcholic that some day they can and will controll their drinking

I would not ask people in AA for advice on drinking. The most ardent AA members believe if you get strinking drunk just one time then you are an alcoholic. For many of them they fear alcohol so much they have to take that stance so they don’t slip up.

You may not be addicted to alcohol but you might have a predisposition to it because of your addiction to other drugs. This could be a body chemistry issue or the so called addictive personality paradigm.

If I were you then I would find some other way to relive stress. It’s too risky for you in my opinion.

I would like detail in relation to the mental and physical pain that people go through. And personal experiences to do with thoughts and feelings at the time. The way you moved, walked, talked, as much detail as possible. What made you take this drastic decision? did it work? How did it feel?
Im supposed to play a drug addict putting himself through cold turkey for an Drama exam monologue. PLEASE help!

It’s somewhere you don’t want go, so don’t play that game.
You’re going to be cold even though you’re sweating, you will shake involuntary while your body becomes wracked with cramp. You wont be able to stop vomiting and you will be turning yellow as the hepatitis sets in. The knot in your stomach will be twisting so tight that you want to cry, but that wont stop the pain and if that isn’t enough I can go on, but like I say don’t go there.

my bf was drug addicted..now he is clean and does not use drugs anymore for sure…2 years passed since he is clean..so..my mum and friends told me that these people like to own persons, they may become obsessed with someone they like…..i am afraid if i leave him what would he do and does it have truth in it cause he is really someimes behaving like that..do u know anything about behaviour of ex drug addicted in general and towards people they love..help please

Well ive done drugs before and i could see myself doing them again if my gf dumped me. They just help with depression(depending on which drug). But ya if you leave him then he will most likely get back into them unless he finds another girlfriend. Which isnt the first thing on your mind after being dumped. So im not sure what you should do. Sorry. I guess you could leave him but stay friends with him so that he doesnt get back into them too heavily.

Question by Shello: I would like to know if a felon who is on probation for the next five years can run a sober house?
Currently the person is on probation until 2011 for assault with a dangerous weapon. She also has several drug charges against her. About every three to six months she goes on a three month drug use of meth. Is it possible she would be able to run a sober house? Lost in Ok. Thanks.

Question by SeaSquirt: Psychologists: What is it like to work with alcoholics?
I just got accepted to a grad program to study the temperamental, family, and environmental factors in children that lead to alcoholism in adolescents. I assume this means my clinical experiences will have a heavy emphasis on alcohol dependency.

I was just wondering what it’s like to work with alcoholics. What are they like as clients? Is it difficult/challenging? Rewarding?
Do they ever get violent or get in rages when they’re going through dry spells?

I remember reading a while back about a controversial new rehabilitation for alcoholics where they teach you how to control your alcohol intake, not eliminate it. What do you think? Do you think this could work for some alcoholics?
