Meet CPR Member Eric Lockett of Light In The Word Ministry

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION Comments Off

Light in the Word Ministry’s mission is to positively help the lives of people with drug or alcohol addiction, people who are coming out of prison, and the homeless people of Jacksonville, Florida. We believe that the person who has taken the wrong path can make a turn and follow a road of spiritual growth, honest work, and continuing education. To achieve these goals that person must meet both short and long term objectives. Some of the short term objectives is to help our clients in obtaining food, clothing, a place to live, and transportation. We will also help them clean up their outward appearance to improve their self esteem. Long term objectives include teaching planning strategies and maintaining achievable goals. We know that if the gospel of Jesus Christ is preach and teached we can help change the world. One person at a time. We know that the Holy Bible is the word of God and we trust that fact. We thank God for allowing us to see a day we have never seen before, Today! We are proud CPR Members and look forward to walking through the many doors God will open.

Sleater-Kinney’s Last Show: 10. Night Light

ADDICTION NEWS Comments Off

Sleater-Kinney’s last performance, on August 12th, 2006, at the Crystal Ballroom in their hometown of Portland, Oregon. A kickass, punky indie rock band, the best to come out of the Portland music scene, and what I believe is the best band associated with riot grrrl, no contest. Catchy as hell to boot, and responsible for the best album of 2005, The Woods, which kicks the shit out of anything else that came out that year in terms of sheer rockoutness. This is one of their best gigs. You can tell they really wanted to go out with a bang. Highlights include an incendiary performance of End of You, probably the definitive version, and Entertain, the best punk song written since Lord knows when. Setlist: 01. The Fox 02. The End of You 03. Wilderness 04. Jumpers 05. One Beat 06. Step Aside 07. The Hot Rock 08. Rollercoaster 09. All Hands on the Bad One 10. Night Light 11. What’s Mine Is Yours 12.
