European or American working life?

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 1 Comment »

Question by Tim B: European or American working life?
Which is better? Western Europeans work fewer hours have more vacation time and get free health care. On average most jobs in Western Europe pay more than similar roles in the U.S with the exception of executive and board room jobs. It is also now easier for low paid workers in Western Europe to reach executive and board room positions than it is in the U.S going against the traditional ‘land of opportunity’ ideal.

However the U.S system has many benefits. Road, rail, and air travel is superior as is the service industry. Factories and farming is more efficient and rates of alcoholism and drug abuse are much lower in the U.S.

Question by Sean K: How is violence in Edgar Allen Poe’s life reflected in his works?
Im doing a research paper outline. I have alcoholism and death affecting his works. I need evidence for violence, though.

Best answer:

Answer by Answer Guru
Egdar Allen Poe’s violence in life gave his writing a darker vibe, I guess. Take the Tell-Tale heart, for example. Only from violence would he write a short story where there is a real, living, beating heart under his floorboards!

REAL LIFE STORIES – Chapter 21 – DRUGS, ALCOHOL, DEPRESSION, OPPRESSION

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION Comments Off

“It was like being stuck in a black hole and you can’t climb out. Because of all the problems we dealt with, including unfaithfulness and distrust in our marriage, the only way out was to separate and divorce. We never even considered what this was doing to our small child.’Imagine a book of testimonies published from YOUR local church like this one to be put out into YOUR community? This REAL LIFE STORIES book of testimonies has gone into nearly 100 different countries. It is being translated into other languages around the world, and souls are being reconciled to God through it. But amazingly, it was never published initially to go around the world! It was published to reach lost souls in the Hobart, Indiana area, yet LOOK how God is using it to help fulfill the Great Commission around the globe! Nearly 100 different countries??? Wow!!! Just one simple non-religious appearing book of testimonies glorifying God. NONE of us have a clue how God may use Jesus-glorifying testimonies that help point people to what God the Father accomplished through His Son Jesus Christ dying on the cross for the sins of mankind that we might be saved from the punishment of our sins — NONE of us! Yet if we dont write out our testimony so He can use it – it CANT be used by Him, can it? And if no one publishes a book of testimonies, God CANT use a book of testimonies. Someone has to be willing to be used of God to give God a resource like this REAL LIFE STORIES book to work with. Why not YOUR

What am I supposed to do after my life inside a drug rehab?

DRUG ADDICTION REHAB 4 Comments »

Question by brad: What am I supposed to do after my life inside a drug rehab?
I just got out of a drug rehab. I feel good and I think I made the right choice. What am I supposed to do now? I’m 21 years old and I know that I have a good life ahead of me but I just can’t seem to figure out where to start. I can’t even go back to my old friends. They’re still holding pot sessions. I don’t want to risk my recent recovery. Any suggestions on what I can do to continue a healthy life?

Best answer:

Answer by andie
Congratulations for making it! It’s always nice to hear news about people winning their fight against drugs. I think it’s a good decision to stay away from your pot-smoking old friends but if you really want to be a friend, I think you should take the initiative and convince them to enter a drug rehab too. Tell them about what you’ve been through and where you are now. There’s nothing better than helping other people get out of a bad habit.

You’re pretty young. Have you ever been to college? I think you should try it. I think it will do you well (just stay away from other pot-smoking people, okay?). If you want to, you can also get a job or something. Earn money by doing something you love. You can also do sports like football or badminton. If you want, you can pick a new hobby. Try painting or drawing. If you’re into music, you can also learn how to play a new instrument. Just have fun and live life but make sure you do it the right way.
