Question by ricker712: Is it legal for an employer to make an employee leave a inpatient drug treatment center early?
I was in an inpatient treatment center and my employer made me leave early to keep my job. I was in there for 4 weeks and wanted to stay for 90 more days in which i was able to leave for work everyday. All I needed my employer to do was switch me with a summer help employee. The summer help comes every may to help anyone that needs time off. My employer refused to switch me with another employee that agreed to switch with me. Now 1 year later I recieved a drug test and my employer fired me for drug use when they didn’t provide the correct treatment for my needs. Is that legal is my question and if not who should I contact to help me with this situation? Me and my employer signed a contract saying I would complete a treatment program for this and they went agaisnt what was signed. If anyone has any information that’d help me out please let me know, Thanks alot for anything that you could help me out with

Answer by Songbyrd11 One issue. Did the agreement say four weeks or forever. He does not have to switch around employees to service your needs. He did not make you leave, he just said that if you wanted you job, you had to come back to work.

I posted this before and people said where’s your stats, alcohol is worse than most other drugs, but it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Why is alcohol legal and not other reality altering substances.
Don’t tell me because illicit drugs are often cut with unknown chemicals because if they were legal they wouldn’t be cut. If alcohol was illegal it could be.
More than 100,000 U.S. deaths are caused by excessive alcohol consumption each year. Direct and indirect causes of death include drunk driving, cirrhosis of the liver, falls, cancer, and stroke.
Nearly 14 million Americans meet diagnostic criteria for alcohol use disorders
More than 18% of Americans experience alcohol abuse or alcohol dependence at some time in their lives.
In 2002, U.S. alcoholism statistics reported that 2.6 million binge drinkers were between the ages of 12 and 17
Alcohol kills 6½ times more youth than all other illicit drugs combined.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy alcohol, I think it should be legal
Why is it up to the people to control their alcohol use but up to the government to control the use of other substances
My question isn’t really why is alcohol legal, it’s why aren’t other drugs legal.
Are you telling me the government wouldn’t make a ton of money if marijuana or MDMA or cocaine was legal?

My sister is trying to get custody of a little girl. Let me try and sum up the sittuation the best that I can.
This 2 1/2 year old girl is in CPS custody in South Dakota for abuse and neglect. The little girl and her 3 year old sister were found wandering the street. One of the parents asleep in the house. The other at work. As far as the abuse, no details have been let out yet.
My sister and brother in law have raised this child since she was a month old. Both parents are meth addicts. The father spent time in prison for assualt on the mother. 3 months ago the parents took the little girl that my sister has raised, she then left the state. We live in Arizona, they moved to South Dakota.
We just found out that they are in CPS custody. So my sister hired a lawyer to try and get her back.. The lawyer said his fees will be anywhere between 3000 and 10,000 dollars. I will add the child is Native American. Is there a lot of hope? For those who know, let me know the chances????

My brother asked his employer for a leave of absence so he could go to rehab for alcoholism (forget that his employer supposedly has an open door policy and programs to help its employees with problems without any reprocussions), his boss responded by firing him. Im pretty sure this is a violation of his ADA rights, but would like to know exactly what laws are being broken and the best way to handle the situation, as my brother cannot afford legal consult.

Is the consumption of alcoholic drinks legal in cooking or travel shows. The Travel Channel and Food Network shows (such as Racheal Ray’s $40 a Day) show the hosts drinking. Are they really drinking or are they drinking apple juice and water?]
I was always under the impression that they are drinking real alcohol because the purpose of them being there is to tell us about the food and drink of certain places.
It’s the same with reality shows correct?

Is there ways people can use it like being prescribed or something? (I’m doing a health project that’s due tomorrow and I can’t seem to find info on this anywhere) I’m afraid to look certain things up because crystal meth is so disturbing…

Many alcoholic drinks such as beer and wine are legal but why are others, for example, moonshine and home brew illegal? Is it because they are too strong?
