How can I get medical insurance for my adult daughter who is addicted to Suboxzone or treatment for it?

Question by valpogal: How can I get medical insurance for my adult daughter who is addicted to Suboxzone or treatment for it?
She began taking her husband’s pain medication while he was dying from testicular cancer and became addicted to opiates. That was the only way she could cope with the barrage of bill collectors, his pain and their 3 children. After he died, she lost their home, insurance, their cars, everything and now lives with me. Suboxzone is a doctor prescribed treatment for opiate addiction but she is addicted to the treatment! She is in bed every day until 5-6 PM, doesn’t have bowel movements or periods, weighs 90 lbs.and eats almost nothing. If I could get a judge to make her a dependent or my ward, I could get her insurance through my work. I cannot afford to send her to Hazelden or another drug rehab. Please don’t tell me to turn to God. I need legal advice or a rehab grant. I am also supporting my other daughter and her 3 children. Anyone reading this who has a clue on how to save my daughter please respond. Time is running out for her.

You can’t do anything until she is ready noone can force/plead/bully/cry or “make them see” she has to see it for herself. I know that’s not the answer that you want but i know it from experience to be true. She has to see this for herself as much as it hurts you and you might want to get some help for yourself until that happens.

You can’t give an addict sleep medication!?!?!?! Take her to a Doctor do not give her any medications that you “think” she should be on!!!!! or that anyone on here suggest that you use.

Drug Addiction Treatment & Insurance Company?

Question by cna1970: Drug Addiction Treatment & Insurance Company?
I’ve been on narcotics for few years through pain management but want to get off the pain meds for awhile and clean myself out so I can try other pain control methods….my insurance will pay for addiction treatment but how does that work? Will I be labeled an addict through insurance company and never be able to get any pain meds again if other forms of pain control do not work? Should I do the out patient treatment and pay for it myself to avoid issues? If I go through insurance do they inform the pharmacy and then they label me too? The meds I have been on work awesome, the last 2-3 yrs my quality of life has been 75% better but I just want to take a break from the narcotics and try other methods if I can but do not want to chance not being able to get back on the old meds if I had to.
How does the insurance work in respect to addiction treatment? I am not an addict in the full meaning of the word… my body is dependent on them & I’ll get sick if stopped abruptly but addicted? No!

Is it possible for a 6-year recovered alcoholic to get life insurance?

Question by Thomas: Is it possible for a 6-year recovered alcoholic to get life insurance?
I have also been prescribed both Wellbutrin and Zoloft for the past several years…Does that mean that “I’ve been diagnosed with a ‘Mental Illness’ as so stated on many Term Insurance Questionaires? It seems that nearly 1 out of 3 adults are now on some sort of SSRI antidepressant, but I don’t think they would all be considered ‘mentally ill’ by their physicians….Heck, everyone is a little depressed these days.

I’m unemployed, near-penniless and am having my home repossessed next month after scraping up the last of my retirement accounts’ balances to pay this month’s payment, so I’d like to know that if I had to, I could somehow “take one for the team” so that I could leave my wife and only child (just 8 month’s old) with something.

Overweight Employees Pay More for Health Insurance

ADDICTION NEWS 2 Comments »

Check out www.vlaze.com/getthedaily for more videos! The source of a deadly food contamination has been identified, according to Canadian health food officials. A recent listeriosis outbreak that has been linked to 4-deaths, 21-confirmed cases and possibly 30-more cases is linked back to Maple Leaf Foods plant in Toronto. The Canadian company expanded the recall of its meat products over the weekend, and the Public Health Agency expects the number of reported cases to continue increasing because symptoms of listeriosis can remain dormant for up to 70-days after bacterial infection. The rare foodborne illness is most dangerous to the elderly, pregnant women and people with compromised immune systems. Regular treatment of the disease is a dose of antibiotics. Health officials in Canada and the United States are in talks of creating legal standards for written food allergy warnings. Currently, these label cautions are voluntary and officials say they are popping up on previously quote-unquote safe, non-allergenic products, causing many consumers to become confused and to ignore the labels all together. The FDA plans to hold a public hearing on September 16th to help understand consumers and their needs – it’s the first step towards developing new standards. About 12-million Americans have food allergies, and since 2006, a US-law has required companies to state when products contain highly allergenic ingredients. And one state is forcing overweight employees to pay 25-dollars

Can anyone suggest help for alcoholism for someone with no income and hence no health insurance?

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 4 Comments »

I will not consider a 12-step program.
No AA–have been to hundreds of meetings but have actually found it detrimental. Have gotten sponsors, done all the work, etc. Just find the meetings so depressing and I already suffer from depression and don’t have the money to get help for it.
