Question by LFA911: 17 year old who thinks he can get clean with drug addict friends?
My boyfriend has recently had problems with marijuana. He was expelled from the same school twice for it. He has decided he wants to get clean and move forward. But I have problems with his friends because he does not have a single friend who is not on some kind of drug. All of them are on drugs. I told him that i do not want to be apart of any kind of drug use. He thinks that he can stay clean and still hang out with all of his friends who are on drugs. I know that in order to be healthy as a person you have to surround yourself around people who are also healthy and can influence him in a positive way. He says he cant just dropped his friends. How do i show him they are not good for him?

But I won’t lie, I hang out around people who DO NOT use because when I am around people that do I do want to use. He needs to be true to himself, and re consider his friends. It is not worth the risk of relapsing and getting in trouble even if he is not currently using.

All I have is my cliche that I have become the intelligent drunk my grandpa was(he died before I met him but I am compared to him a lot). The question is though, what do I do? Drink myself into oblivion or what?
