Question by NorthernCA/FL: Recovery from alcoholism. I go to more meetings than he does. Is that dangerous?
I have 18 months, he has three years. He was a drug addict as well (me, too–speed, but primary alcohol). In the beginning, we talked all the time about our program, our meetings, sponsors, Higher Power, etc. It has been five months that we have been seeing each other. He is also working nights, and going to school part time. I have noticed that he goes to a meeting a week, and is pretty cynical about the “sappy” people in AA, who “hide in the program.” I am one of the sappy ones…AA saved my life.

This feature, from Today Tonight on Channel 7 in Australia, exposes Scientologys front, NARCONON, as a Dangerous and Deceitful Sham. In reality, Narconon is nothing more than a smokescreen, used to recruit the vulnerable those whose lives have been ravaged by drug addition. In practice, its promises are empty, its treatments are Bizarre & ineffective and the lives of those people that it attracts are at risk from permanent psychological damage and suicide.
Though still stupid you can somewhat forgive the 60′s generation for all drugs they did because the information they had was vague and limited but todays generation has no excuse. It’s a well known, publically advertised fact how harmful and dangerous crystal meth, crack, cocaine and other illegal narcotic drugs are. Still we have a problem.
What exactly is the general purpose of drug addiction? what is it, what does it do to your body and why is it dangerous? What is the treatment for drug addiction? Please help me answer this question. Thank you!!
Please make your answer simple enough to understand.
