if someone drinks like 4-7 beers a day everyday is that considered alcoholism?
ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 15 Comments »If a person has 5 to 6 drinks a day is it considered alcohol abuse or alcoholism?
ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 19 Comments »I personally don’t think it’s that bad even though it’s more than the recommended limit. As long as the people are not drinking and driving or drinking at work I don’t see why 5 or 6 drinks per day is bad considering that most alcoholics probably have at least a 12 pack per day. What do you think?
instead of “or” I should have put a slash /
I usually drink one beer a night and if I dont have beer I dont drink and its no big deal. What effect will this have on my liver?
Why isn’t smoking cigarettes a disease also?
I don’t believe it’s a disease. It just givers people an excuse. I believe it’s a CHOICE
still no one answered why alcoholism is a disease and not cigarettes.
Someone I know had an employee who showed up at work drunk. It would make sense to fire them. He was told he could not fire the employee since there was a possibility the employee was an alcoholic and alcoholism is a disability you cannot be fired over.
Thoughts?
Psychologically speaking, is alcoholism considered a diseases or a result of a voluntary action?
ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 4 Comments »The way I see it, drinking alcohol is a choice because you are voluntarily putting it into your body and you have the choice NOT to do it. Being predisposed to it does not make it an involuntary act. I am predisposed to gaining weight and eating, I do what I can to eat right.
Medically speaking, is alcoholism considered a diseases or a result of a voluntary action?
ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 9 Comments »Out of curiosity.
The way I see it, genetics may predispose a person to drink as much at it predisposes some people to over eat like myself. Yet I choose to limit my food intake and the same for a person to drink. I feel it’s about responsibility and choice. I don’t understand having a lack of responsibility and the choice of making the wrong decision is considered a full blown disease.
