time for a change? Recovered alcoholic boss after one year is now is disarray.?

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION Comments Off

Question by mscarlybobarlysmom: time for a change? Recovered alcoholic boss after one year is now is disarray.?
worked for a company for 10+ yrs and assistant to the president of the company. After his one year aniversary of soberity, the disarray in business applications is causing my job to become varied in job description. I’m not getting much help or answers. You can’t say anything about it, but it’s not helping #1 for the work environment when 75% of my day is calming those who don’t understand the scattered thoughts from him and the other 25% trying to resolve issues on my own, hoping I’ve made the right choices because I can’t get answers. She disapears and takes many “mental health” days and works after hours so there is no human contact and thoughts can be clearer. Should I stick with it, move on, say something or just keeping on doing what I need to do to keep the business a float on my end? How do I know this???? The wife of a recovered alcoholic (I know everyone has a different experience), but it’s like living with my husband after his first year. I LOVE my job, but need my sanity.

Answer by concise_pear
thats the question you have to ask yourself.
is it worth losing your sanity for a job?
are you being overworked?
It might not be worth it in the end.
ultimately, its something you have to either change or live with, and it sounds as if you need to make that decision soon
All the best

I would suggest talking with your boss and asking for some clear cut directions that would help them be able to keep thing smoothe. Tell them exactly what the problems are WITHOUT blaming them for those problems. Come to a solution together and start the process from there.

How can recovering addicts deal with change in relationships

DRUG ADDICTION REHAB 20 Comments »

Changes in your relationship as a part of recovery is an extraordinarily important dimension, not only after recovery starts; you have to realize that your relationships have evolved as a function of being involved in this destructive behavior. You have probably moved people away that don’t support your involvement in the destructive behavior, and you’ve brought in people that do support it. As a result, so your relationships are kind of askew when you find yourself in a position that you want to take on a recovery process. So, we need to start from that point. Once you start to invest in proactive, healthy, goal oriented activities, you need to recognize that you’re doing a dance with people, and that you’re sort of like on a chess board or something, where people are going to react to the new you. They don’t know what’s been going on between your ears; they only know what’s going on behaviorally. Your relationships with your spouse, your children, your employers, and your best friend might change dramatically. There’s a lot of need for dialogue between yourself and those people that you’re going to keep in your life; keep them abreast of what’s going on, help them realize that you’re changing from the Cha Cha Cha to the Tango, and that they should help you make this evolution to the Tango and not fight it. There may be features that come out of your recovery that they don’t like; you may be a little bit more short tempered, you may be not as willing to write-off their

What does diffuse fatty liver change mean ?

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION 1 Comment »

I have not been well since January. I had an Ultrasound then and it read that I had a fatty liver. To make a long story short, I had a CT with and without contrast done (for kidneys-I have kidney stones) and I ended up having my gallbladder taken out a couple of weeks ago due to large gallstones. Well, I have a copy of my report from the CT scan and it was compared to a previous CT and it read that I have diffuss fatty liver change. What does this mean ? Should I be concerned ? Is this the beginning of Cirrhosis ? Is this something that can end up killing me ? What should I expect next as far as testing is concerned ? I do not drink alcohol nor am I obese. I am going back in four weeks to see my Primary care physician and just wanted some input about this prior to that appointment. Thank you.
