Question by blueshroom: Where and what is the best Drug Rehab center?
Looking for a drug rehab center for 19 y/o who is abusing opiates.
We are in South Jersey. We’ve tried, individual psychotherapy, Intensive outpt.
I’m not sure if they want treatment because they want to get well or because they have no choice…..

Answer by justabigfan In any particular state? Private treatment? Long-term?
You can do an internet search for drug rehabilitation, and it will give you a choice for your state. When you get down to a few options, then maybe others can help you pick the best of the bunch. You should know going in though, that if the 19 y/o doesn’t want to be in treatment, it most likely isn’t going to take, so try not to go the expensive, private route for the first treatment center. Drug rehabs are sadly not for people who need them. They are for people who want them. Same goes for NA Meetings.

Question by lars12801: Do Drug, alcohol treatment center falsely diagnose people as needing treatment solely for profit?
I had to attend a DWI screening at a drug and alcohol center for an evaluation ordered by the DMV of NY to get my license back, I told them the truth that I hadn’t had a drink in more than a year or done drugs in over 2 years they charged me 0 bucks then told me after 15 minutes of yes and no questions that I needed at 12 week program. That sounds sketchy to me!!! it seems like they just want your money

Question by xbabyphatx: Willard Drug Treatment Center in NYS?
Does anyone know what the time there entails? My ex is there but he was charged with possession, not use…so I was a little confused when he was sent there…he was on parole and violated so maybe thats why…but I’m wondering do they do things differently then a regular state prison? Or does it just have a different title…any insight would be appreciated because I’ve just been wondering…thanks
I actually found this site on the history…but still would like to know, it seems according to this its like a bootcamp…

The Recovery Place Rehab Center: Learning to Live on Life’s Terms www.therecoveryplace.net (877) 360-7623 The Recovery Place rehab center places extreme emphasis on helping clients like Jim learn to rejoin the community in a positive way. Jim has been clean for three years now, and feels this is due to the transition he was able to make from inpatient rehab to a semi-structured residential program and then into sober living housing. He wasn’t just treated for 30 days and cut loose to struggle on his own. According to John, CEO of The Recovery Place and clean himself for 10 years, “many of us who were abusing forgot how to live life without the drugs.” Learning to live in society in a healthy and positive way is a huge and important part of treatment at The Recovery Place, a Florida based residential rehab center.
Question by : Should I allow my children to see their father in a drug treatment center?!?
My love and the father of my children is taking part in a six month rehabilitation program, because hes a heroine addict. He has been an IV drug user for about six months, and finally checked himself in because he claims he really wants help and wants to be a part of my and the kids life. I just don’t know if its a good idea to take my children, who are two and four, to visit their father. I mean hes in there with a whole bunch of people like him who have some sort of drug problem and I dont know if it would be appropriate for my babies to be around people like that. I mean I know that they need to see their dad and its already been a few weeks which is a really long time for my four year old who has seen her dad everyday of her little life before this. She really wants to see him and really misses him. She blames herself that she can’t see daddy and that he can’t live with us right now; I think her being able to see him and see that hes okay would help her be okay with the whole situation. I just don’t know if they should be in that kind of enviroment. I told her that he was sick and had to go to the hospital, I just dont want it to hurt them anymore. Another thing is in one month he can leave the facility for a few hours… should I just wait!??

Answer by Bobydob i think you should take the children to see their dad…you dont say if youve visited yourself, but usually these centres never have any tell tale signs that the patients are drug users, and obviously everybody there is clean for the duration of their stay, so they will be reletavely normal people….why dont you go on your own first and see what you think?
