Lautens gets benefit of doubt
I am not always a fan of Trevor Lautens’ column, but he generally writes clearly and knowledgeably, particularly about local North Shore matters. His Sept. 4 column was a mess, however, somehow mixing in alcoholism and child porn along with a bit of Oscar Wilde. Read more on North Shore News
My friend/co-worker is extremely abusive towards her 5 yr old daughter. She is always yelling at her daughter and tells her daughter to shut the fuck up when she whines or is grumpy. She tells her daughter to get the fuck away from her or says don’t fucking touch me when she tries to hug her or sit on her lap. Today she called her daughter a fucking dumb ass because she could open the car door.
My heart goes out to this little girl because she is so unhappy all the time and always acting out because she is needing attention so badly. I have a 3 yr old daughter and I have never nor would ever say the things that my friend says to her daughter, even if somebody paid me. My friend is also a crystal meth addict and the other day I saw her holding a meth pipe as she was driving away from work with her daughter in the car! She knows that I know she does meth and she’s not to worried about keeping it a secret, so I confronted her and asked her if she smokes the stuff in her car when her daughter is in the car with her and she said yes. My jaw dropped and I was speechless.
Should I call child protective services on her? And if I do what would they do exactly? I’m not sure if she hits her daughter but the emotional and mental abuse is awful and just as harmful for this little girl. I feel like I need to do something…not sure what though, call CPS or have a heart to heart with her? Advise please???
She keeps a nice home, clean etc…the living conditions are not bad minus this emotional abuse along with a crazy drug addiction. If I tell them she uses meth will they ask for a drug test?
I just found out today that my Sister and Mom (whom I haven’t talked to in at least a year) have been calling my in laws to leave messages for me to call them, but the whole reason why I don’t stay in touch with them is because first of all my Sister who is a known drug addict who has been addicted to meth for at least 10 years, she has done all sorts of kinds of things to not make me want to associate with her for example she has used my idententy for everything from phone bills to medical bills. My mom is another story, she does nothing to help my sister except enable her to be an addict. She still assocaites which my Ex husband who abused me, phsyically, mental and emotionally for seven years and claims that she doesn’t even though I have proof. Well all in a nut shell they are just plain dysfunctional and negative and I feel my life is so much better without them … but should I call them so they don’t bother my in laws anymore with the phone calls? How should I go about this?
My neice is five years old. My parents have raised her because her mom was addicted to meth and basically abandoned her over here. She lives back and forth between both pairs of grandparents and as a result she has had no discipline. Plus, shes extremely hyper and forgetful because my sister took drugs while she was pregnant. well, today my mom put her in time out and she was crying and my 19 year old brother started hitting her with a flyswatter. I told him if i ever see him hit her again i will call the cops on him. my mom flipped out and was all defensive of him because hes the only boy and shes scared of him or something stupid. So i told her if all she wants to do is practice child abuse, she should give my neice over to the other grandparents completely. What do you think?
My mom had already disciplined her by putting her in time and spanking her. He just decided that her crying was “bothering him” and started hitting her with a flyswatter. Not on her bottom wither. Just a full out swatting. He always does this. This is not the first time. He constantly chokes her and threatens to kill her and throw her through the window.
