Well my brother used to work, though he does have anxiety/OCD/depression issues (as do I). I have worked through these problems and continue to. Bro hasn’t worked a day since getting on SS in 1996. Instead his alcoholism and psych problems have been increasing and he is beligerent and impossible to reason with. He is not working through the problems. Now he is drinking himself to death. I applied for disability twice and I’m glad I got turned down. I am on the verge of a successful career now.

No although you made me think there – I live in a part of the world with very high unemployment and neanderthal position on mental health it is very doubtful if anyone here with problems would be able to get work. I do think work is helpful. I did voluntary work as a mental health advocate and it helped me a lot for a while – I am retired now -I think there should be more opportunities to be useful in a safe way not all of us can cope with mainstream as that exacerbates the problems – Most of the really good schemes are in the learning disability sector at a certain level of mental unwellness we do seem to be bought off so as not to scare the native population

I’m from Carson City, Nevada and I would like to know if I could find a drug treatment center here. My son Ethan has finally agreed to attend a treatment program to overcome his crystal meth addiction. He experienced the negative effects of the drugs to his body and he realized that there’s still hope for a better life. I’m so happy that he’s taking this step into changing his life for good. Please help us find a drug rehab. I want to have the old Ethan back.

It’s nice that your son finally realized how precious his life is. Using drugs has never been the solution to any problem for it makes everything worse. I’ll include some sites where you can locate different drug rehabilitation centers. There’s so many to choose from and I’m sure you’ll find one that will work best for Ethan. I want to know where I could go and whom to contact. I really want to help people who are struggling with their drug/alcohol addiction. I know that there are courses that I can take up so that I may be able to do this. Can anybody help? I live in New York, btw.

You should check out the links I sent below. These might be able to help you. It’s a good thing that you want to help people who are addicted to drugs. This has become a really serious problem in our society nowadays. Good luck on your search! I’m sure you’ll be able to help many people.

Has anybody gotten off Crystal Meth?

A close friend of mine has been addicted to Crystal Meth for the past 6 months. I am talking for the least half gram a day.How can she get off it by herself .Any advice pls. its killing her and she knows it ,but she cannot go to a place for advice as she knows that she wont be able to stick to the program

Is anybody pretty knowledgeable when it comes to getting unemployment benefits?

I was just laid off from a car dealership last week. I worked there for 10 months. Before I was laid off they told they would honor my unemployment benefits. So I filed last week and now the state of MN is looking at a job that i quit back in Oct of 2007. I had to answer a bunch of questions online about it and they contacted the employer. To make a long story short, I quit this job, or was fired….either or because of alcoholism. I have been sober 14 months now, but I wasn’t a very healthy person back then. In fact i ended up in the hospital back in oct of 2007. When i got out I sent this employer a letter letting her know i was sorry and what had happened. She sent me my last 2 checks and that was it. Can the state of MN deny me unemployment for a job that I quit 17 months ago??? Why do they even care about this job….its not like this employer is going to be paying my unemployment benefits????? My most current employer will be and they’re fine with it. I am worried sick over this whole thing because its pending right now and i need the unemployment until I find something else. Any knowledgeable advice is appreciated!!!!!

I can almost understand if somebody starts smoking cigarettes because they think people look cool doing it. But, when have you ever seen someone look cool on crystal meth?
