Pakistan is struggling with the highest number of drug addicts in the world, according to medical authorities there. Officials have said there are at least five million people using heroin, opiates, or other mind altering substances across the country. The United Nations office on drugs and crime estimates around 40 per cent of Afghanistan’s heroin and morphine goes through Pakistan, and some of that is used by the more than 600000 Pakistani opiate abusers. Nai Zindagi, or New Life in English, is the country’s biggest rehabilitation programme. Every day it helps around 22000 addicts across Pakistan. It gives clean needles to stop the spread of HIV, advises on health issues and gives addicts the chance of getting clean. Al Jazeera’s Alan Fisher reports from Bara koh in Pakistan.

I love this song, I’m 15 and I’ve lost so many of my close friends to drugs and my cousin who is addicted to like every drug there is and she’s only 16 just turned and I try to explain to her pretty much what this song says so maybe ill try to get her to watch this (: I hate drugs and I’ll NEVER do them.

this completes the story of my life. its so hard seeing one of my bestfriends become addicted to drugs. and when you want to help them, they dont want to listen to anyone. i said some of these lyrics to him, and i think it made him think. i just relly hope he changes, i love him. i dont want him to loose everything in his life. thank you so much for putting this song out there.

this song makes me want to cry because it reminds me of friends who will probably real soon because of drug addiction.
really makes you step back and take a look at what we do with our lifes,
Ya and the worst part is that my mother never knew about anything I was doing because she was working and in college all the time. but we moved my 7th grade year so I got better-ish. I am kinda alright now… never compeletely off of weed but it is my resolution this year. that and to quit smoking too.

every time some anyone lights up a smoke(tobaco) they are killing them self i have plenty of friends who will likely die frome some tobaco related illness so yah the are addictive why els would some body some like 20 or 30 a day

When I hit 6th grade I switched schools and I started doing drugs with my new friends. I had been around it in my old school but never started. I started with cigs then weed, I eventually progressed to a horrible addiction to Speed and I even tried Meth once(you can do it just once, but don’t) all during 6th grade…what does that make me like 12 years old…and now my junior year I got the highest score in my school on the PSAT! I moved again and I couldn’t find a dealer so I got sober..GO ME!
