why? i never really understood this. alcoholism is, by official definition, “a physical and emotional addiction to alcohol”. howis that a disease? its an addiction. does that mean all addictions are diseases? everything you put into your body can change your mental state and change your brain. addiction to chocolate has been proven to change your brain, so is that a disease as well?
please explain!
my mom doesnt believe it is a disease. she believes that its simply and addiction, that can be given up if one learns self control.
so…do you believe is it a disease, and if you believe it is a disease, why is it considered a disease?
I’m addicted to crystal meth. I’m ready to make a change, where do I start?
DRUG ADDICTION REHAB 6 Comments »I’ve been on the drug for over a year now, and I’m tired. Tired of wasting all my money on it, my mind is tired, and my body is tired. I realize I can’t continue on this way, but at this point it’s all I know it seems. And in the back of my mind, I feel as if I’m going to be missing out on a lot of fun with a lot of new friends I’ve made. And then there’s the weight loss, sometimes I think that I’m addicted to the weight loss and not the drug. I can’t turn anywhere else for advice because the people that don’t know about, don’t need to find out and the ones that do are just as addicted as I am. I never thought I’d be in this boat, but now that I am, I need to find an oar.
Part 3. Monica tells the Quartermaines that they can all stay in the mansion. She’s moving out. Dawn decides to leave with her. Alan doesn’t understand and wants to know what she’s up to. Meanwhile, Lucy, who knows that she’s moving into the mansion and knows she’ll be marrying Alan that afternoon, arranges for a wedding reception at the Port Charles Hotel. Lucy sees the mysterious Desiree, who is living on Wyndamere (with Faison…aka famous writer PK Sinclair) and tries to hobnob with her. Dawn and Decker talk about Ned’s two sides – the soft side and the Quartermaine side. Tracy plots against Lucy. The You Dropped the Ball Campaign The people in charge of ABC’s General Hospital have mishandled or rather not handled Monica’s alcoholism storyline. Let’s show them how displeased we are by sending them balls. For more information on the campaign and how you can participate, please go to: pxlbarrel.googlepages.com

I like the store bought eggnog but can’t really afford leisures this year. So how do you make non alcoholic eggnog? And please only use recipes that serve about 2 people, as Its only me and my husband this year.
my husband keeps relapsing from drug addiction and is currenlty is prison right now. everytime he gets out he seems to be doing good up until he visits with his dad. he is very close to his dad and when i tell him not see him he gets very mad at me. he gets very defensive when anyone tells him to stay away from his dad. he told me even if his probation officer doesn’t want him to see his dad nobody can stop him because that is his dad n he loves him. but his dad has beed a meth addict before my husband was born. so was his real mom n step mom but they both died along time ago. his dad encourges him to keep smoking n even offers him in front of me. do you think i should tell his counselor? he was in the drug court program but got sent back to prison until their is bed space at a rehab center. i’m afraid that once he gets out he will relapse again because his dad claims to be worried about his son going back to prison because he thinks he might die while my husband is in prison because he keeps going in and out of the hospital due to complacations of years of drug abuse but he still keeps trying to offer my husband. i’m also afraid our son will end up like him because my son n husband both are geminis and are alike in so many ways. do you think talking to the courts, his probation officer and counselor about his dad will help?

CLICK HERE! TheSecretMoneyMakers.com A one-time hell-raising renegade from Greenfield, Ohio, Johnny Paycheck took to playing music and raising hell at young age. Born Donald Eugene Lytle in Greenfield on May 31, 1937, Johnny was playing guitar at the age of six and singing professionally at the age of fifteen. After dropping out of high school, Johnny began having minor run-ins with the law. However, none were serious enough to keep him from pursuing a career in music. While playing local gigs, he continued developing his skills as a songwriter and as a backup singer. Although he’d been writing since the mid-50s, it wasn’t until two of his singles broke the charts in 1966 that he gained recognition as a songwriter. That year Ray Price charted with Touch My Heart and Tammy Wynette scored with Apartment #9. A prelude to his solo career began as a bass player for Ray Price. From there Johnny took a job with George Jones. He stayed with George for six years, playing bass and later steel guitar. Paycheck also worked with Faron Young and Porter Wagoner. Meanwhile, Johnny began working on a solo career by recording his own singles. Paycheck first appeared on the charts in 1965 with A-11. By 1966, Johnny had co-founded Little Darlin Records and for three years, he cut several sides for the label. Only one single The Lovin’ Machine broke the top-10. Paychecks big break came when he signed a contract with Epic Records in 1971. After his first recording session with Epic, he began …
