What will happen if all us us stop drinking alcohol in any form from tomorrow ?
ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION Add commentsI think we would get benefited. Don’t tell me it is excellent muscle relaxant or peg or two is actually a good sedative. Look at accidents caused by drunk drivers. Look at student addicts. Find out how many have liver cirrhosis every year. Why we want to change the state of mind and feel temporarily happy by having alcohol ? World statistics shows that Alcohol consumption is on rise in all forms of alcoholic drinks. I think consumption of alcohol must be having proportion to insecurity , lack of confidence , relationship problems and psychiatric disorders. What are your views on this topic ?
Iggy – where you would draw the dividing line ? do you know how many teenagers drank alcohol on 31 st this year and to what extent ? do you know many rapist do the crime under influence of alcohol ? how many women suffer abuse from their husbands who are alcoholic ?? In country like India a very low quality poisonous alcohol is produced illegally killing many people every year. Many add drugs to alcohol to increase the “kick”. I am not suggesting alcohol should be banned , it will be impractical, but at least why not be aware that consumption of alcohol may go out control one day.
The Murder rate will drop drastically.
the cops wouldn’t have any thing to do.
My view? My view is that you should stop posting while drunk.
Seriously, though, alcohol is not the problem, PEOPLE who don’t know when to stop drinking alcohol are the problem.
If we all stopped drinking booze today, the liquor industry would vanish as would the tax income and jobs that it provides.
I believe you are wrong tbh! While the statistics and info are maybe right that doesnt mean we should stop drinking cause some people dont know when to stop.I like to go out and have a drink with my pals and yet no one from us is getting drunk (or at least not those that are gonna drive). And yes some times with a drink you forget the troubles of work life relationship and let you have fun. While the drunk drives may be a threat for me as well that i dont drink..personally is a danger im willing to take. The only way for as to be safer is if they are more careful to what ages they give alcohol cause here in greece for example they give alcohol from 16 and above while the limit is 18 and above.
Prohibition did not and will not work. The problem is not alcohol, it’s the lack of education that people have about alcohol. I know plenty of well-adjusted individuals who drink casually and do not abuse it and have no desire to. They are not insecure and definitely don’t have any psychiatric disorders. Accidents by drunk drivers are not because of alcohol, it’s because of their lack of judgement in getting behind the wheel in that condition.
Oh….and isn’t red wine recommended for your heart health? A glass or two a day, I believe?
I think it is a simplistic, knee-jerk solution that goes nowhere near the underlying problem. The issue is not that people drink. People often drink because they feel insecure, lack confidence, etc.
Alcohol, as a drug, smothers the problem, but it does not create it. Continually disguising the problem (with any drug or diversionary tactic) is of concern, and can make the original problem worse.
So, unless a person addresses the underlying need or desire to drink, taking away alcohol only takes away one drug, one method, of medicating the problem. Medicating problems IS the problem. And the only solution to that is doing something about why we feel crappy about ourselves.
if every1 stop drinking..liquor company owners wud commit suicide….LOL…
jokes apart,
i agree with u !!!
The government will go bankrupt !!!!
soooooo many things would go right fo a day but hangovers from 24/7 drunks the day before might cancel it out
Ooh, Carrie Nation incarnate.
So tell us, what is your weakness?
Lawyers will go jobless and the nation will end in bankrupt…………
With love and regards,
M.J
Then we wouldn’t have girls drunk texting you and saying things they do not mean.
Bottom line, less deception.
Lol. Really? When do you plan on getting down off your soapbox? When you get your head out of the clouds you might see the reality of the situation.
It is due to insecurity really. What’s the problem there? The only problem is law breakers, not every alcohol drinker drives drunk, in fact so few do that you might as well blame bacon for car crashes or crime. BAD ARGUMENT.
It is the SOLUTION to people’s insecurity. How can you see the flaw in your logic? Without this ‘fix’ or escape then what do you think people will do? There will be more social problems, tension, depression, crime will go up, people would take drugs instead. All the people using it to self medicate.. suicide? who knows.
You are getting alcohol drinkers confused with raving mad alcoholic drunks. Almost everyone drinks alcohol, so your little theory could not be more wrong. No matter how many Big Brother government studies try to paint it as sinful and the death of us.
bar tenders and booze producers would starve to death
Personally speaking, I think the world would be a better place except for the business aspect of alcohol which is mind boggling huge to say the least. It would absolutely cripple the country economically.
That aside, it’s like a child asking, “Why can’t we all just get along? or I want world peace all over the world.” It’s not very realistic at all. It’s nice to imagine these things, but they will never happen. Prohibition has been proven a total failure as history has shown. If people can’t get their alcohol legally, then they simply make their own. Even prisoners locked up find a way to make booze.
It’s a nice thought, and I agree with you, but that’s all it is, a thought. It doesn’t hurt to dream though, does it? Consumption of alcohol does get out of control for some people, but the majority of people are responsibile enough to not drink without any problems and just enjoy themselves. I don’t think it is more out of control now any more than it was at any other time. None of my family are drinkers even though no one ever told us we could not drink or even that we were lectured not to drink as children. None of us ever really liked it and don’t bother with it other than an occasional cold beer every now and then in the summer. In my circle of friends of family, it is not an issue.
Then America’s biggest , by far, health problem would be solved.
the rate of crimes will decrease lol
