Had a forty year old neighbor with a twenty year history of drug abuse that I use to let hunt on my rural property ask for permission to hunt the property again. I was not aware he had such an extensive history with drug abuse or I would have never let him on the property in the first place.
He was arrested for manufacturing crystal meth back in November of 2006 and served a couple of months in a county jail. Now he wants permission to hunt on my property again. He says he’s been clean for a year, but the guy comes across now as slick and manipulative. Too friendly. Too pushy friendly.
The police dogs from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics got “hits” on my property around an abandoned house. I told him this and he denys ever using or manufacturing the god-awful subtance in or around the house. I don’t believe him and my instincts tell me he’s full of cr** and to stay away from him. So what would you do?

I would post “No Trespassing” signs around the property including “No Hunting” signs. If he is doing things on your property its because of it being an ideal place and out of the way of suspicion. He thinks he’s got you worked over so you’ll let him do what he wants. Besides you don’t want to be responsible for whats found on your property and with the trespassing signs being posted you could always have him arrested if he’s caught on your property. Protect yourself
Tell him you’ve accepted a better offer from someone else who wants exclusive rights to the property…sorry, you can’t help him!
NO!,NO!,NO!,Once an addict is always an addict. No matter how hard for him to kick the habit,it always find its way home to his body.Dont be fooled.
No way,
especially if he’s hunting on your property.
I wouldn’t let him back onto the property. And if he keeps bugging you, tell the police.
did u really have to ask hell no
I would not allow him anywhere near my place. Drug addicts will steal, cheat, lie, and basically do anything necessary to keep up their problem. Don’t invite trouble on yourself.
Where are you, North Mississippi? Last time I worked down there meth was mostly north but creeping south.
you may want to get rid of that dough-nut pretty quick my friend!
If you do you should prepare yourself to be ripped off and lied to. Meth rots peoples heads. Dirtiest drug next to heroin.
You can’t trust drug addicts. Hell the SOBs turn in their own dealers.
Call the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics , they may want to set him up and take him down. He has used your property before, you do not want to be mixed up in this.
Convicted felons shouldn’t be hunting. He might not be making meth on your property…but he might grow some pot on your place. He hasn’t had enough time clean to earn your trust. I think you should trust your instincts.
l’d absolutely not want him on my property for any reason.meth cooks love rural property which they’re not tied to to set up labs.put up signs and call police if he ignores them. You could lose your land if a meth lab is found there.
Listen to your instincts. If this guy has used drugs for 20 years, he is not going to stop because you politely ask him to. He is going to do drugs while “hunting” on your property. The police are going to continue nosing around and you are going to end up getting into trouble. Besides, why the heck would you want some doped up guy HUNTING on your property?
So, post the No Trespassing signs and tell him you do not want him back on your property. If you see him there, call the police and have him arrested.
