Contrary to this mantra, these overly crowded, unsupervised dance parties have often ended in the accidental death of an experimental teen who was merely going with the crowd. Drug dealers will sell ecstasy tablets to young and naive ravers, wait for the drugs to take effect and then take back the remaining drugs along with whatever money the victim has on them. Whether a rave takes place at a friend’s home, an abandoned warehouse or a nightclub with security, overdose, rape, robbery and death are all potential outcomes. Research is teaching us more and more about this population. However, research is only useful when it can be translated into clinically useful technique. MEET RICKY COLE Meet Ricky Cole Ricky Cole ..(AKA)….B-Boy Rick-Rawk Ricky was born in Clarksdale Mississippi in 1985, He moved to Goleta, Santa Barbra, when he was three, and then moved to Oxnard when he was 13. He now is currently residing in Orange County where he does his thang… Before leaving Santa Barbara, Ricky was inspired by the boy next door who began to teach him how to break. After two years of practicing only breaking, Ricky then decided to try new things, Choreography. Joining Channel Islands High School Dance teams, he expanded his knowledge not only in breaking but in acting, jazz, salsa and Hip-Hop. From that point on Ricky knew he wanted to entertain. After graduating High School, Ricky then spent two years coaching and choreographing for Valencia High School who went onto winning numerous competitions including Nationals. To further his training, he moved onto the college dance scene where he spent two years dancing and choreographing for Cal State Long Beach, Pac Modern, which won and placed at many competitions. He also danced for Super Friends, Non-Stop Sick Step, and Chill Factor. When you walk into a treatment center and it’s not harm reduction based, you’re asked to become abstinent immediately. There is no conceptualization of anything short of 100% stopping.
