A&E Intervention – Pam Pt.4

ALCOHOLISM ADDICTION Add comments

Pam is an alcoholic with a terrible past full of failed marriages and abuse. She uses drinking to cope with her past and to try to move forward in her life. Cirrhosis, the degradation of the liver due specifically to alcohol, has already claimed one member of her family. Her family does not want Pam to be the second victim and urge her through an Intervention to agree to treatment.

This guy isn’t a terrible person, but he’s totally insensitive to her! She’s having a fucking panic attack and all he can say is “here we go again”. She could do better.

  2. chieftainette Says:

I think the boyfriend seems like a nice person, and he seems to really care about Pam — he just doesn’t know the proper way of dealing with an alcoholic partner, so he enables her without realizing that’s what he’s doing.

I’m glad he listened to the interventionist and was willing to stop his own drinking to help Pam.

    @ anjajune
    Actually, she’s not.
She’s pretty tough and kick ass, but not with the males in the family. Very protective of my dad and me.
You’re dead on correct on everything else though.

  4. anjajune Says:

Your mom was dominiering and you find some some safety in the situation that you know even thoug you deep inside know that its not good for you. A bit masochisitc. You want to save people who cant handle their lives.
And that’s ok, just take care of youself.

Good grace how did i end up with this program? It’s not really interesting to see people destroying themselves.

  6. EuroStatus1985 Says:

I love how he’s telling an alcoholic “You’ve got to stop your drinking someway, somehow..” yet he refuses to get rid of his liqour at home, and instead leaved an alcoholic in the house for 4 days while he is gone on business WITH BOOZE IN THE FUCKING HOUSE.. does that not enable her?

whats bad about drinking is. like myself i drank for years. from the time of 16 to 23 years of age. not as bad as her mostly weekends getting drunk. then i got to hurting in my legs and went to a doctor i found out i had avascular necrosis of the bone and my hips died and knees and shoulders. moreless the joints of my body. like 1 out of hundreds of thousands get it and i did. so now im 16 years sober and im in a wheel chair due to drinking and being allergic to alcohol.

  15. 39tommyboy Says:

i agree totally on what you say. the bottom line is to find out what is causing the problems in her life like others and finding a way to make piece with it. i made piece with my childhood and havent drank in 16 years. it hard i know.

  16. badsign1980 Says:

this guy isnt any better, he likes the alcohol situation cause he controls her, if she was clean maybe she would leave him, cause a guy whos not home ever women usually leave and he knowns this so its mixed fucked relationship
