As the Obama Administration deliberates whether or not to send more troops to Afghanistan, investigative journalist and author Gerald Posner says that the Taliban and Al-Qaeda have a new weapon against the US: trying to get the army addicted to cheap heroin.

Also realise, if 90% of opiates come from this country and it is used in the production of many legal painkillers, it is also obvious that the pharmaceutical companies need these supplies and that is why production is continuous.

You are so right, the same thing is going to happen like in the last few wars. The soldiers are going to come home with problems, no jobs, and a government that does not want to help them. Then some are going to join gangs just like they have done since WW2, and before that. Its very sad to see the same things repeat themselves time, and time again. The veterans better get more help than they did after Vietnam, I don’t want to see another generation of forgotten soldiers.
