Do you personally consider Alcoholism a disease, or do you consider it an addiction just like nicotine or other drugs? Both?

    Personally I don’t, nor do I consider any other kind of substance addiction to be a disease.
    They all started voluntarily.

    How is it a disease? You have control over it. Wouldn’t that be considered an addiction (because you induced it yourself)? Idk, that’s just my opinion.

    Addiction is a disease. Individuals may not have the resources or the right mindset to quit. Relapse prevention should also be promoted because it is easy to slip back into old habits without support.

    drinking alcohol in limited quantities occasionally is fine and it does not amount to alcoholism. But alcoholism is considered an addictions. It can also lead to a number of health problems, both physical and mental.
