Parameters you need to consider while finding a suitable Drug Addiction Treatment center

Uncategorized Comments Off

This is really a difficult task to choose the right drug addiction treatment center. There are many rehab centers and each one has its own programs and methods to treat patients. Most of the time, addicted people avoid going to the treatment center; they are afraid that how they will be forced to deal with. Therefore, this is a crucial issue to choose right treatment center.

Some people prefer to choose rehab centers near their native places; thereby compromising on the quality of the treatment programs. People should choose the best addiction treatment center to avail the best service.

However, there are following points that can help in finding the best suitable treatment center for you:

-          Availability of relapse prevention program: During withdrawal, it is possible that patients may face relapse symptoms. So the treatment center must have an effective and reliable relapse prevention program to control the condition. Under this program skilled professionals restrain patients to take drug and provide cognitive behavioral approach. Through personal counseling, patients have been trained to control themselves and stop the temptation of drug abuse. Nevertheless, this program is more effective in the alcohol rehab centers.

-          Medication facility: Normally, in these cases medication is not required, but if the problem is serious patients need medicine for immediate relief.

-          Recreational programs: This is one of the most important aspects of treatment center. Recreational programs provide confidence and assist in fast recovery.

-          Experience and qualification of professionals and staffs: The professionals who provide treatment facility in rehab center must have good academic career and sufficient experience of treating drug addicted people.

-          The location of treatment center: Location also plays an important and decisive role in correcting the addiction behavior. Therefore, if it is located close to beach, mountain, or any such kind of natural landscape, it is more conducive for the patients.

-          An integrated approach: Since, single method of treatment becomes monotonous and boring, therefore if treatment center provides meditation and community participation facility along with medication and various therapies, the treatment programs become more effective.

Hence, before going to any drug addiction treatment center make sure that your problems match with the programs of treatment center. Because the better matched programs are much suitable for you to get treated faster.

12 steps field sales coach plan

ADDICTION NEWS Comments Off

The reality is that most sales managers do not spend enough time with their staff in a coaching capacity. Providing constant feedback and being a role model who demonstrates the right skills.

Many managers today are still focusing too heavily on short term efficiency and not long term effectiveness. Development of staff through on-the-job coaching is a critical function of modern day managers but can take second place to some of the more urgent, but less important priorities.

On-the-job coaching is something that managers recognise they need to do with junior members of the team. When it comes to salesperson with several years experience, the sales manager would prefer not to do it. The rationale goes along the lines that the senior people do not need it. They have been selling for years and they would resent the sales manager going out on a coaching day with them.

It is true that it is not much use you going out to coach people if you cannot add anything to the call. However you are the sales manager and you should be able to add something even to the most accomplished salesperson.

Added to which is the fact that those sales people who have been selling for years are not automatically good salespeople and as we have already discussed, the job of selling is constantly changing.

The 12 step approach for on-the-job sales coaching involves the 3 phases:

before the call, during the call, after the call.

Before the call

1 Check the customer records etc.
2 Question the objectives of the call. “Anything else? Can we aim higher?”
3 Review the call/sales plan/presentation plan:

Key sales techniques Likely objections and solutions Any problem areas and recommendations Role play important points if necessary

4 Agree on your role. Usually shut up and observe the call.
5 Summarise and encourage

During the call

6 Watch and listen

How the call goes versus the plan Strengths Weaknesses Improvements from last time

After the call

7 Decide on the key learning points

2/3 no more Identify some good points

8 Overview the call

What happened versus the plan Let the salesperson lead: “How did you go against your plan?” “What did you achieve compared to what your objectives were?” Don’t get into the detail of the call at this stage

9 Analysis of strengths

What did you do well Let the salesperson take the lead. Add your own comments

10 Analysis of weaknesses

“What would you have done differently?” Use non directive questioning techniques to let the salesperson solve his own problems. Avoid telling. Focus the questions to the areas where the key learning points are. Why did it go wrong? What should you have done? Why? Role play if necessary

11 Agree on action plan to address the learning points
12 Agree on the next action with the customer

Easy Steps to Securing your Personal Loan Online

ADDICTION NEWS Comments Off

If you are seeking a personal loan, no matter the purpose, it is wise to shop for a lender online. You will be able to find many more lenders on the internet than on local guides and you will be able to compare interest rates, repayment periods and other loan terms from the comfort of your home.

Even With Bad Credit

Besides, there are lots of online lenders dealing with bad credit loans. Iif you are in financial difficulties, you will find out that online lenders offer more flexible programs and are specialized in dealing with bad credit, no credit or even bankruptcy. So if your credit score is too low or there are too many stains on your credit history, there is nothing to worry about; you will be able to find the loan that you need. Moreover, the regular monthly payments of a loan will increase your credit score till you finally recover your good credit tag. As strange as it may sound, the best way of recovering from a bad credit situation is to request a loan and repay it in a timely manner.

Get Ready

First of all you will search on the internet for online lenders; the smartest move is to join a site that provides access to many lenders, so you can compare them online. You will be able to request multiple loan quotes and compare the APR, fees, costs and other loan terms so you can decide which lender best suits your needs. Once you have located an online lender, the first step would be to complete the online application that will be presented to you.

You will have to fill in the blanks for contact information and data on your credit score and past credit history along with income amount, employment situation, etc. After everything is completed you will submit the information. Be careful not to conceal any information and to be honest and straightforward, that way, you will be able to get approved for a loan that suits your needs.

Sit And Wait

After the application has been filled and submitted to the lender, the information will be reviewed and your credit report might be pulled. Have this in mind when applying for multiple lenders, as multiple checks on your report will affect it negatively. After the first review, you will be contacted by a representative and you may be asked to provide documents.

It is likely that you will have to sign paperwork if you get approved. Online lenders are well aware that you have chosen an online processor in order to avoid having to move from one place to another every time something is needed and also to avoid wasting your time, thus they will keep non-online steps to a minimum.

There are multiple online lenders and though each of them will have its own process, the truth is that these basic steps are customary and every online applicant will have to go through them in order to apply for a personal loan. So do not wait any longer and start searching for your loan online. It is faster, cheaper and hassle-free.

An Overview of Drug Addiction Programs

Uncategorized Comments Off

Drug addiction programs vary greatly when it comes to treatment and options.  Generally when people speak of drug addiction programs, they are talking about rehabilitation facilities that treat people as residents of their program.  These in-patient programs are a very good way to deal with a drug addiction and will have the largest success rate.

When choosing a drug addiction program, there are certain aspects you should look for before you enroll.  Do they provide one-on-one therapy?  Do they involve your family members?  Do they provide exercise programs and nutritional meals that will help to heal your body along with your mind?

A drug addiction treatment program should have a variety of therapeutic sessions to help you deal with the painful symptoms of drug withdrawal and the emotions that go along with it.  The program you choose should be medically based for optimum results, but faith-based programs can be effective too.

Should you choose an out-patient program to treat your drug addiction, be sure that it is a program you are comfortable with and has people that you are comfortable with as well.  Because your program will be the cornerstone of your recovery, it’s so important to have one that will meet your needs and guide you along the way toward becoming drug-free.

The therapy programs you choose are so important because your drug addiction is more than just a physical addiction; it’s a psychological condition as well.  You need to treat your mind as well as your body.  That’s why therapy matters in a recovery program.

Another aspect of a drug addiction program you should not discount is exercise programs.  When your body is performing at its optimum peak, you are mentally more able to meet the challenge of beating your drug addiction.  When your program of choice offers various exercise programs, your body will be strong enough to beat the tough withdrawal symptoms that you will be facing.

If you are choosing an in-patient treatment facility, be sure that the setting is conducive to your recovery.  A stark, gray hospital probably is not the best choice for most people.  Many rehab facilities are now located in beautiful pastoral settings with plenty of room to move about and places where you can relax and meditate.  You will need to get in touch with your inner self during recovery, and having a beautiful place to do it in makes it much easier.

A drug addiction program is so important to a successful recovery that you should not take it lightly.  Drug addiction is a serious problem and the program you choose to beat that addiction can make all the difference between becoming drug-free or relapsing.

Understanding The 12 Step Program For Alcohol Addiction In North Carolina

ADDICTION NEWS Comments Off

Since the time the Alcoholics Anonymous has established itself, its programs have reached international appeal. Among these is the 12 Step Program. The 12 Step Program has become very popular for the purpose of alcohol addiction in North Carolina among other states. First introduced in the 1900s for alcohol treatment by the Alcoholics Anonymous, the program has now become widely accepted as one of the most potent forms of treatment.

The 12 Step Program for alcohol addiction, as the name suggests, contains twelve different stages. These are formulated in twelve points, which form the crux of the treatment. As the treatment progresses, each of these points are implemented, in a sequential manner.

It can be observed for this program of alcohol addiction in North Carolina that:-

1. The program is a deeply spiritual program, but it is not religious. Though the program invokes a divine power to help people with their alcohol treatment, it is not adherent to any one particular religion.

2. The program also does not have any political affiliation.

3. The program is non-discriminatory and does not confine itself to any one community, gender, age or any other such group of people.

Due to its nature, the 12 Step Program has become widely accepted in the state. Even other forms of addiction treatment, such as narcotics treatment, heroin treatment, cocaine treatment, etc. have adapted this program to their needs with the necessary modifications.

The following are the main steps of the 12 Step Program as it is adapted for alcohol addiction in North Carolina.

1. The first step is an intervention. A realization is created in the minds of people that they have no power over their alcoholic habit and that the habit has made their lives unmanageable.

2. The second step is creating awareness in the alcoholics that it is not possible for them to come out of the addiction themselves. They will need to rely on a higher authority (God) to deliver them from this problem.

3. The third step is to wholly accept the authority of God and to trust in Him to bring them out of their problem.

4. The fourth step is to probe into self and to create a moral inventory of self.

5. The first step is confession. This is where the person will be made to accept unto himself or herself that things have gone wrong due to their alcoholic habit. They have to make this confession unto themselves, unto God and unto another human volunteer who will help them get out of their problem.

6. The sixth step is to ask God to give them strength to come out of these characteristic defects.

7. The seventh step is prayer. The alcoholic person is to pray to God to help him or her come out of all their deficiencies so that their life can be improved.

8. The eighth step is to create an inventory of all persons who were harmed due to the alcoholic habit and to express a willingness to correct all these wrongs.

9. The ninth step is to actually make these amends. However, if in making amends someone may be hurt or harmed, it is better to let things be as they are.

10. The tenth step is to continue the process of realizing where the mistakes have happened and to make corrections where possible.

11. The eleventh step is to pray to God and meditate to continue asking for His blessings and guidance.

12. The twelfth step is reaching out. Once the alcoholic has sufficiently come out of his or her habit, the message should be brought out to others so that more people can be benefited.

Thus, the 12 Step Program as applied to alcohol addiction in North Carolina is an exhaustive program that intends to take people from alcoholism to sobriety. The program is designed in such a manner that it includes various aspects of treatment, including intervention to recovery.

Today, the program is found quite prominently used in almost every alcohol rehab center in North Carolina during the aftercare phase. It is a wonderful inclusion during this stage where the person is being made aware of the importance of staying away from alcohol. They are first led through the detoxification program where they are cleansed bodily of the presence of alcohol in their bodies and then led through the aftercare program where the 12 Step Program is implemented.

There are also several spiritual programs where the 12 Step Program is used as a sole program. These programs can be availed of through the Internet and even through religious institutions where the programs are widely promoted.

Non-Traditional Alcoholism Treatment – A Formula for Success

ADDICTION NEWS Comments Off

Non-traditional alcoholism treatment methods have always recognized that 12 Step models work for some individuals but not for most, at least not for very long. The problem is that nothing else seems to either. Designing effective treatment for individuals turns out to be a complicated business that must take into account many variables in ways that don’t easily lend themselves to any particular model. As a result most programs offer little beyond “don’t drink, go to meetings, work your program, and repeat forever.”

It’s also difficult to remember that people have been quitting drinking for as long as alcohol has existed. Some individuals quit when their doctor suggests it’s time; others when spouses threaten to leave; a few when they collect their first DUI with all of the attendant costs and embarrassment; and still more just because they decide to. They quit with or without help or programs or meetings.

So, what happened?

Historically, most current treatment methods grew out of the experiences of two intractable alcoholics, Bill W. and Dr. Bob. They discovered a way that worked when nothing else had for them, thus giving birth to AA and the 12 Steps. And that way was generalized by treatment providers to individuals whose personal characteristics are far different from Bill and Bob, two white, male, middle class, middle-aged, drunks.

Despite marketing to the contrary, alcoholism is not an equal opportunity disease. Its prevalence varies drastically depending on age, ethnicity, geography, income, education, religion, and many other factors. Treatment which fails to take these factors into account is far less likely to be successful than methods which do. As a result, 12 Step success tends to correlate to how closely the client matches the original Bill W./Dr. Bob profile.

Additionally, treatment programs which fail to address differences in how individuals process information will also suffer. In the 1960s and 1970s Dr. Jane Loevinger, at Washing University in St. Louis, developed a model of adult development. Working with Dr. Loevinger’s test protocol in Minnesota and Alaska in the 1990s, Dr. Ed Wilson referenced developmental levels to 12 Step success, along with identification of those clients for whom traditional treatment was apt to be ineffective as well as those for whom it is frequently counter-productive.

As noted, the development of comprehensive and effective treatment plans for individuals is challenging and multi-faceted. Paradoxically, including developmental levels as another variable actually makes things simpler – if not easy. It allows the clinician to rapidly determine the client’s suitability for 12 Step programs; calculates the initial effective proportions of the cognitive/behavioral therapeutic mix; indicates the proper “half-stage” of distance to maintain so that the client feels neither patronized nor mystified; and the likeliest methods of avoiding relapse.

Developmental considerations do not, of course, offer any miracles. Effective treatment will still require conscientious therapists who are neither wedded to any particular model nor hampered by their own history. Additionally, with time and trust, clients are apt to reveal higher cognitive levels that necessitate continuous adjustment to the treatment plan. But that is, after all, the definition of “professional,” isn’t it?

Good therapeutic services are not static and neither are people. To suggest as much, as in never ending “recovery,” is to do a disservice to conscientious clinicians and clients alike.
